It wasn't just the title (although EDGE OF TOMORROW is a terrible, terrible, terrible, terribly stupid title, no doubt——a cross between a soap opera and nothing). It was the marketing that sunk that movie. The trailers were total crap, conveying exactly zero about the plot or how much fun the movie was. It was just

The Abyss novelization is great. It's written by Alan Dean Foster.

It was good, dumb fun. Less so now that we know what's coming, but it was just an enjoyable b-movie with an a-level budget and actors.
