Metrics? I was talking to someone who thinks opinions are metrics?
Metrics? I was talking to someone who thinks opinions are metrics?
Nah. Watch.
We should never stop trying to make the world safer. We should also never stop acknowledging reality. The two are not mutually exclusive, and to excuse the latter for any reason makes the former much harder. People who do not feel its important to be educated or to acknowledge reality are piss poor at accomplishing…
I'm sure it does.
Wowzers is trying to use the broad opinion of Tomatoes and whatnot to refute someone's personal opinion.
I guess I missed that. Seems I always hear how great they are. Flash especially seems to get really good notices. And don't get me wrong; what I've seen of them is quite a bit better than the hideous Agents of Shield. But better isn't good for me. Good is good for me. Great is even better.
This piece makes a very astute observation about the movie, but I'd agree that it's even better than the writer here lets on. Probably Brooks best film. He had a serious one-two punch debut with Terms of Endearment and then Broadcast News. And I also think As Good As It Gets is excellent. Some day I hope they release…
They do still exist, but there are far fewer attempts per year being funded. But both Wes & PT, the Coen's, Fincher and a few others get to make them. But yeah, far more rare, and generally smaller budgeted than in the past.
How about the Wildly Overrated Comic Universe?
I mean, it's up there. There are a number of recent titles vying for that title. Certainly Jurassic World and Batman v Superman have a say in this.
Most them don't believe it either.
But George Wallace was, and he had already been elected Gov of a state. And would be again. Many times. I'm pretty sure Trump pales in comparison.
Yeah, that is true. There is a strong evolutionary component to pattern recognition that causes people to see things that are not there.
Yuuup. A favorite of mine is to tell people that violent crime is the lowest it has been in 50-60 years. 10 out of 10 people tell me I am wrong, and 9 out of 10 refute me with some variation of "If that were true, then why is that all I see on the TV news?"
So, this Eastbound and Down thing… it any good?
I'll stop jizzing all over journalism as soon as it stops jizzing all over me. I mean, seriously, Chuck Todd, just stop it.
Well, not that strange. I mean, in 1968 there were 500,000 Americans shooting people and being shot at in Vietnam, two of our societal leaders were assassinated, there was a riot at the Democratic convention, crime was reaching all time highs that would not level off until the 1990's, and the killing of a black man…
Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa there, pardner. There ain't no such thing as a senseless Pokemon killing. Those are the only killings that actually do make sense.
I stand corrected. Heck, I'd probably watch that, too.
My bad.
