“But go blame the perpetrator.”
“But go blame the perpetrator.”
Morally conflicted.
Why is Bernie Sanders the first Senator to ask for a perjury investigation? What the fuck is wrong with the Democratic leadership that they didn’t demand this immediately?
He is like Trump and lies about everything, including petty lies that are easy to disprove. I read that it’s possible his grandfather being an alum had no bearing on Brett being accepted. But, just admit it!
He also lied when he claimed he had no connections to Yale, because his grandfather was an alum.
That is what haunts me most from Dr. Blasey’s testimony. How a momentary diversion for a man becomes a lifetime trauma for a woman. Of course Brett Kavanaugh doesn’t remember doing this. It wasn’t even a thing to him.
It felt like a comfortable pair of slippers I’d forgotten I had. I wasn’t really in support of the reboot -- I do like a new idea now and then -- but I watched it, and it felt good. I intend to continue watching it.
My parents had to explain the Dan Quayle stuff to me last night, and now if for no other reason, I will watch this show to prove which entity had a more lasting impact on America.
Stark memory from high school:
Murphy Brown comebacks: 1
Let’s not forget Revenge of the Nerds and Weird Science either. I don’t think any of those ’80s teen sex comedies have aged well.
Vox had an article yesterday entitled “The rape culture of the 1980s, explained by Sixteen Candles” (https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/culture/2018/9/27/17906644/sixteen-candles-rape-culture-1980s-brett-kavanaugh) that made me realize something: So many folks have not bothered to update their understandings of sexual…
When I was 8 years old, I was having an argument with a classmate at school. In the middle of it he turned around and I thought he was going to hit me. Instead, he reached out and cupped me between my legs to shut me up and then laughed at me. Decades later, it horrifies me that such a young boy knew that was a type…
And how is this one not getting on SCOTUS ruining his life? Whoever said that when you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression hit the nail on the head.
I know one man (just one) that I’m close with who freely confessed that once, he believed he went too far with a woman and took advantage. He realized this literally the morning after it happened, when he’d sobered up, felt terrible about it, was worried for the woman, and then immediately wrote her a letter…
You know Ive acted foolishly when drunk, Ive been groped by women in a bar/party. But Ive never tried to A) hold a girl down, B) locked a woman in a room, or C) tried to cover her mouth when she was crying out.
Exactly!
“This man is not getting this very prestigious job due to not qualifying during his job-interview. His life is ruined!”
How does that make any sense?!
Because not sitting on the SCOTUS would ruin his life. He still has a lifetime appointment to another bench. Doesn’t matter what happened to Dr. Ford.
It never ceases to amaze me that they think that not getting on the Supreme Court is going to “ruin a life.” By that silly metric, they were perfectly happy ruining Merrick Garland’s life for the crime of getting nominated by a Black president.
The Orange Führer just fired Rosenstein. If we don’t march on Washington and stop what’s about to happen, we deserve the Dotard!
