Same here. While I don’t know if I can properly explain this, what I think I’ll miss most about him is the precocious curiosity for the human condition he had, and his willingness to share a meal with and hear out anyone.

Same. My late husband was a huge Anthony Bourdain fan. He had a man crush on him and would have been devastated by today’s news. I don’t know if I believe in heaven, but I like to think that my husband was anxiously waiting at the entrance for Bourdain, ready to ask him a thousand questions and hoping to be his new…
I appreciated how Bourdain evolved from the cheeky American asshole in Cook’s Tour to the more respectful “I want to be everyone’s friend” in No Reservations to the “food is just how I talk about the bigger stuff” guy in Parts Unknown. He cut down on the wisecracking (somewhat) and turned into someone who was…
I’m often left to wonder how many suicides are a direct result of unintentional prescription/OTC drug mixing. He was likely on some sort of antidepressant (due to past mentions of depression) and may have been on something else, who knows what, and the mix of drugs drove him to do something that he otherwise wouldn’t.…
Celebrity deaths never really phase me at all, but Bourdain is something else. His voice was one that said what I needed to hear. I’ll miss his interesting, entertaining and important work.
I was just expressing something similar about Bourdain (except in regards to his gift for appreciating the basic humanity people from all cultures share, and presenting that to his viewing audience - his shows are often a great antidote to dehumanization and othering).
After watching what’s happening on the borders as people try to flee the regimes we’re actively propping up (ahh, the 80s all over again!) I’d even debate that.
“Several staffers at the BBG have told CNN they plan to leave if Pack is confirmed,”
Yep, that’s precisely how Hitler would’ve played this too. Get a state official like Goebbels.
Which is a huge problem. People calling the police because (black=suspicious) and never facing consequences. They reinforce racism. They create potentially dangerous situations. They waste the time of police officers and are harassing people. And there are never any consequences.
Becky McWhitetears needs to get herself some business. You’re that pressed about a Black student napping in a common area? You’re at Yale. Read a book. Do some homework.
And this isn’t even the first time! Terrorizing fellow students and wasting the time of the police (this ranks so very low on my list of priorities, but if there were ever to be consequences for her bleached ass, this would be the deciding factor I’m sure) demonstrating clearly that she is a disrupting factor on…
And yet Becky McWhitetears will face no consequences from the university or police.
The way she dodges and rubs his arm is very practiced, she’s done it before. Ladies, we should all learn this move.
I don’t know if he actually wants to have sex with her so much as have sex with half of himself. It’s the closest he’ll ever get to fucking the most important person to him— himself.
allow me...
I was just thinking that she’s lucky.
Definitely. One of the things that established her credibility so clearly was just how twisted up the poor woman clearly was. She stated multiple times that Donald was incredibly loving and respectful towards her, to the point that she felt completely blindsided by the Access Hollywood tape . . .
What moreloathsome is she defends and backs him up on the sayings of others and about her.
Ivanka must feel so special that her father agreed on-air with Howard Stern that she is a “piece of ass”.
