I wonder at what point other countries will start accepting asylum requests from Americans who are afraid as hell of our rampant gun violence.

LIVE! Killed LIVE and on the air! We now have people being MURDERED on live TV. We have CHILDREN being murdered in their classrooms. Nothing gets done. We, as a country, through our inaction have said this is A-OKAY. Just another day in the beautiful United States! Let freedom ring and god bless America and her guns!

Let’s not talk about the killer’s motive here. MOTIVE DOES NOT MATTER.

I feel the world should be free of drunken frat boys letting everyone else know they have a penis.

Whenever you get a group of men together without female influence, things get very scary very quickly.

Neither. It’s a Terminator.

Men: Women should do my job for me.

David Johnson previously worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office as a full-time deputy from July 1997 to May 2003 .

I too agree that victims of abuse should ‘drop’ their abusers when they’re in a dangerous situation with said abuser... and I agree that firearms are a perfectly good tool of which to do just that.

If someone can help me get this post out there:

Fuck our broken law enforcement and criminal justice systems for failing victims of abuse in this country every goddamn day.

I feel simultaneously broken by the seemingly insurmountable mountain of injustices in our path and wholly inspired by the courage of those who put themselves on the line and won’t back down. I wish I were made of similar stuff. Keep it up, civic heroes; you are forcing the citizens of this nation to wake up and pay

Basically. My school did abstinence-only education, and basically the implication was that if you choose to have sex, even once, that’s game over. You are now a worthless pile of trash. My school district took state guidelines one step farther and banned teachers from discussing condoms AT ALL. Like, they couldn’t

I’m pretty sure there’s actually a lot of overlap of people who believe in abstinence only sex ed and people who want a completely white washed history curriculum...

No one is stoping them, but if it’s making you unhappy you should really stop yourself.

“....programs comparing girls who’ve had sex to used tape, chewed up gum, and stinky old shoes.”

I have a nasty feeling that the abstinence only states have a lot of conversations like this:

Or, because we live in a culture in which young women think their only chance to get a man’s attention, albeit briefly, is by sending explicit photos. They feel that if they don’t keep up with their “dating competition,” then there’s no way they’ll get a second look. I have zero issue with sexting (ugh, I hate that

I don’t know how much sex ed can help with that. It has to do with the culture. It’s all good to say - don’t do it if you don’t wanna - but that’s not the message most people get. It’s “If you’re hot enough to hit it, hook up as much as you can.” That’s the message I got when I was young. No amount of a matter-of-fact
