There is no flat A (flat like the “a” in flat or apple) sound in Italian, which is the origin of the word.  

I only listened to the first guy, and he said “pah-sta.” Not “pass-ta” like the Brits.

But you Brits also say “pasta” with a flat a, and it always sounds ridiculous.
