The problem has never been the size of the pool. It’s plenty big. And I don’t want to hear the “best athletes don’t play soccer” thing—for example, Marvell Wynne was, without a doubt, one of the most naturally gifted American athletes of his generation, and he’s just a guy who plays in MLS. USMNT is full of freak

I think you’re overrating the American women a little—there’s depth and athleticism, but the top nations aren’t that far behind.

I’d take France. Their women are probably as technically skilled, likely more tactically astute than the US. Brazil’s women are no joke either.

Now that tournament would be awesome to watch.

If nothing else, as less and less people allow their boys to play football, the pool from which soccer can pull talent from should expand over the next 5-10 years.

How would the US do if we created co-ed soccer: Five men and five women plus one keeper? Obviously our high end players aren’t competing with the elites, but our women are definitely better than most. Are we the dreaded “Matchup nightmare”?

So that’s what the editor’s notes look like?

TMZ. Consistently a better investigator than the NFL.

He sounds absolutely terrified, and that one cop standing at the rail over the scene somehow makes my skin crawl.

Dan Lebatard was talking about this earlier today, and the texters that responded to the story were as vile as ever. Didn’t think a video supporting (not that a video needed to exist to support his story) the story would come out so quick.

I know it’s pretty cliche at this point, but remember everyone, if the police ask you to do something, make sure you’re not a large black male.

It’s so telling that the first responses to his original tweet was a bunch of assholes suggesting Bennett made the whole thing up to suit his “agenda”

No doubt this video will still do little to dissuade them otherwise

If only there was a nonviolent way for NFL players to peacefully protest what’s happening to minorities in America in a way that would garner mass media attention.

They’ve grown up to become amazing young women. I may have been a fierce critic of the Bushes, but Dubya and Laura Bush did something right in raising their daughters.

As a former resident of Pittsburgh, I can not only confirm that people wear Steelers jerseys to funerals, but also women dress them up to go out at night with black pumps and a tight skirt or jeans. Steelers jerseys are the little black dress for Yinzers... it’s difficult to explain to anyone that isn’t from there.

I have to say that Pittsburgh was the best goddamn NFL experience I’ve had in this country.
God bless that city and its bars of cheap beer, stodgy delicious food and people who were so friendly that I thought I was being conned.
I love that goddamn place.

I’ve been in coaching (different sport) my entire professional life. This kind of thing is why most coaches I know have a slightly weird, very solo hobby - whittling miniture furniture, homebrew potato vodka, etc. You have to do something that nobody else can fuck up, because the players you work with every day, no

that is funny to me because his other hand is enveloped in a device which is designed to do what this bare hand is not.

Once Payne and his superior who pushed him are fired and unable to find another job, then I’ll believe in that “goodness of society”.

The shame is that he’s a reasonable fit. If you suck and have a crap QB, why win five games with Kaepernick if you can win three with someone worse.
