As for nap pods, I believe in nap pods if they are elevated and not visible. Reason being that I think seeing people sleeping reduces awakeness. But gimme a loft space and I love a 20 min power nap.

We decided to build a company summer 2009. We decided on the idea for @howaboutwe August 2009. We started building December @2009. Launched sign up flow Feb 14 @2010. Raised seed round Feb 2010. Launched full site (with way too many features) April 2010. Seemed reasonable. Were working 7 days a week 18 hours a day.

Depends what you're good at and what you think would make you really happy. We've had a bunch of people join from Goldman/etc in BizDev, Finance, and Customer Acquisition. These are the obvious moves.

Very very hard to start without money. You can get a few people on board by making them founders and offering a lot of equity. Sometimes you can offer equity for cash for a short time for early contractors. But you'll need cash sooner than later to make the ship hum.

These days you see a lot of companies with 11 to 10 work hours - but on closer investigation people are actually arriving at 1, playing pool for 2 hours, drinking, chillin' - not really doing 10-12 hours of work a day.
