@dapper_otter: Works well for me. I use Netflix, Hulu Plus and DirecTV with TiVO. When I want to watch something recent, I usually try Hulu, but I am still trying to figure out how to get stuff I enjoy like on the Discovery Channel or History, etc.

@remmelt: Well, I found that the pair was close to SSD, and CHEAP with a ton of convenient storage. For most usage the array is a way better deal for most. Oh, and in my desktop Mac Pro I have a dual Vertex2 RAID 0.

My pair of Seagate 500 7200RPMs in my MacBook Pro are great in a RAID 0. Using dropbox, TimeMachine and Mozy, I don't mind the higher risk of failure These drives are so cheap today that it's worth considering in a laptop vs. SSDs. I do have a 48GB SSD ExpressCard in there which I like as well, but with the HDD

@ant1pathy: I believe I saw figures noting that a large number of people switched to AT&T to get iPhones, so the Verizon folks who buy right at launch either were really tied to Verizon for some reason or are just ready to get a new phone.

@wjbean: But really, aren't people changing their consumption patterns away from calls? My first smart phone in early 2002 was so great precisely because I could IM someone or email them instead of have a long chit-chatty call. I find a lot of other people I know are doing the same thing.

@rjdub: Usually Diet Mt. Dew or Coke Zero. What's wrong with it vs coffee?

For #2 (if it were a regular garage), what would be nice if you could arrive home and pull in at the base of the facility with your packages/etc. Then, while in the car, be lifted up to your condo/apartment, and the door to your place is outside your car's parking spot(s). Then you can bring your packages right in,

@Go Vols!: To be fair, if it was meant as a toy for the rich, then the goal of selling 200 was apparently too high. It sounds like Concord sales didn't allow the effort to hit break even. With these two points, a failure seems to be appropriate.

@MazdaMania: haha, yeah, I was kidding about now and then, been around Giz for a long time. Still, the not tag should work most of the time if it's bothersome.

@MazdaMania: Good grief. Another person taking the time to complain about the inclusion of an article. Apple is easily the largest technology company by market cap and it often sets trends that affect the whole industry,so it's going to crop up now and then.

@CamTheMan: Well, you can check on the DirecTV Website, where I think it says early 2011. They don't offer much detail, but I think unless it has full TiVo features, it will flop if more costly than a standard DirecTV DVR.

Only TiVo premiers work with this, which is a shame since S2 TiVos ought to be able to work as well. Many people may have these older units floating around their homes where they do not have HD sets (or where they are waiting for the DirecTV TiVo that is supposed to be announced any day now).

Big deal, it's only a 32 oz (ish) cup. I easily drink a 32 in one sitting. Heck, a Burger King MEDIUM is a 32.

@dtptampa: That's my thought. I guess it depends upon how you use it. By contrast my 15.4" MBP is more than twice the weight.

@dtptampa: Just got a loaded 13 MBA, the better performance and screen real estate doesn't cost much in terms of weight or portability and should last longer as a result. That said, the base config should be plenty for a "writer"

@tomsomething: +1, a thin taxi and addition of bike lanes.

This is awwwwesome! Playing Gold Rush really took me back. I couldn't believe I played games with such low resolution at first and after a bit it seemed almost normal.
