Looks good, but doesn't seem accurate relative to my commute. I can get to work in 30 minutes, but if I plug in up to an hour, it doesn't even show my home. It probably takes an extra 10 in he evening.

This level of performance is available because Apple took the end-to-end approach. Take a look at the 5 minute video on the Apple site and you will begin to understand the reasons for locking it down. This machine is not possible without custom-components and tight integration.

I've heard people aren't allowed to speed either...

How about Independence Day? As I recall the alien mothership is hacked with a PowerBook 3400. Then the uploaded virus spreads to the rest of the ships and drops their shields...saving the world.

1. Projector, would be nice, but with AirPlay & Mirroring, I think Apple's going to opt to have other people develop those accessories. Eventually I can imagine it, but not for a while.

1.7GB for Windows, 984MB for Mac, nice.

I think it's assumed to be in everyone's personal collection already, so no need for it on Netflix

I always thought deep down that we all evolved from SponegeBob...

Agreed. I saw Sony show a 4K projector at CEDIA in 2004. The Red One camera does 4K, and there is a fair amount of content out there. I could be wrong, but I think any movie today designed for a theater would be shot in 4K.

Lala was first, Apple bought Lala

This article, nor Netflix CEO's letter, seem to address that many of us WANT to ditch the mailing option.

When there's an option for two hard drives in the online Apple Store, it's a surprise that there's room for two?

Since the iCloud shape is a modified MobileMe icon, perhaps it has a closer connection to that service than something new for media only

If you're considering a router for SMB (or larger) there are a bunch of security considerations to look at that might be worth considering, such as through a product from SonicWALL, that provides intrusion protection, network antivirus protection etc.

Just to chime in a bit, if you're looking at good headphones, look at DACs and amps as well. If you're just starting off, you'll definitely benefit from something like a HeadRoom Total Bithead, which gives you a much better DAC with less noise than an internal soundcard.

I really appreciate how Fiskars takes a "we can do it better" approach to anything with a blade, while it seems smart enough to avoid battles with niche companies like SOG.

I thought the birdman was Tony Hawk. Hmm.

Perhaps, but do you need a pen for every input? How about tools? I have a Wacom tablet, and a Logitech NuLOOQ, but with multiple monitors, I really like the idea of using my iPad for tools. Hopefully it will work on wifi networks where mDNS doesn't run properly (institutional typically).

I might be missing something here, but I think CS5.5 should replace each CS5 reference above. CS5.5 is NOT a free upgrade from CS5. For example, Design Premium upgrade is $399. Here's Adobe's pricing page: [www.adobe.com]

HDMI 1.4/1.4a supports 4K and there are some 4K projectors, so this is a somewhat reasonable thing to do. However, I would guess any 4K device coming out will do upconversion anyway (and probably do it better), so I don't think I'd be willing to pay a huge amount extra for upconversion.
