Depends on what fails.

He’s trying to distract you from the hair plugs

Hey, someone has to keep those botox doctors in Bugattis.

He looks like the results of the newest intern at Madame Tussaud’s trying to produce an Elon Musk mannequin.

Some of us get wrinkly and gray...some of us turn into plastic. DON’T JUDGE THIS COMIC GENIUS WHO HAS BROUGHT US HOURS AND HOURS OF DELIGHTFUL MOMENTS OF ENTERTAINMENT!

Whatever Musk’s past deeds and intents, if he actually manages to make cryptocurrencies collapse (and, ideally, the art not-fungus bullshit with them, please), I’ll go as far as raising a drink to him, for real, in real life.

People like neat categories, but real life is messy. A transwoman can be a groundbreaking individual but also a horrible person. A director can make great movies but be a pedophile.

Courtney might both a victim of grooming, manipulation, and done extremely wrong by their parents, and also be kind of a crap person: I

I miss those days.

Let’s just look back at that AV Club article...

Sorry, multiple things can be true. She may have been groomed and let down by multiple levels of society and somehow passed through far too many safety nets that should have prevented all of this from happening.

Why the hell would I take something in good faith? I couldn’t vent and get righteously angry if I did that!

I cannot tell you how relieved I am that this is the top comment thank you semi-bored torontonian

We can thank the Fox News crowd for appropriating and bastardizing yet another term.

i honestly thought AV club was smarter than people on twitter.

Yeah, this isn’t “cancel culture” talk. It’s “everybody is playing it safe with TV Shows and Movies for mass audience appeal.

I don't think that's clear at all. He said "people are afraid of getting cancelled," and was talking about movies as well as TV. Movies don't get non-renewed. I feel fairly certain he was talking about canceling people.

I’m not entirely sure what he is saying is actually that clear, honestly, but the third (of three tweets to this thread, not quoted in the above article) somewhat feigns to this:

so they feel like they can only experiment w/ aesthetic. (also because some of em know theyre not that good)“

Yeah - you’d think that’d be obvious considering how many years Community was on the brink of being cancelled, but of course nuance is dead on the Internet.

OK, Matt Albie. ;)

Comedy is about truth.  It’s about speaking to power.  It should be about comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comforted, and when it fails to do these things, like SNL is doing by allowing Musk to host, it is nothing more than minstrelsy.
