He's also been severely traumatized by the man in back of Winkie's, don't forget that.

That's only because real life is far crueller and more unfair.
Yeah, maybe that's it. The mechanism of manufacturing doppelgangers eludes me.
"You've got excellent blood pressure, you lost 40 pounds in three days and can't seem to form simple sentences. Nothing wrong with you. NEXT!"
I can only assume that Dr. Ben was so smitten with Dougie's weight loss and sexy blood pressure that he failed to notice the sudden appearance of a 25-year old bullet scar.
God yes on all this, especially Chantal. She's a goddamn pro.
No hay banda!
It was definitely there, and it felt weird at first, but then it just sort of blended into the song.
Diane stands on her own, Tammy stands on her own. The Log Lady does wonders with incredibly limited screen time.
Maybe he'll complete whatever ascension Major Briggs was trying to do. Considering everything he went through, it doesn't feel like he has much place in this world anymore.
Completely agree with this. The characters feel authentic, particularly MJ who remains the lone superhero girlfriend not to be relegated to acting like the peanut gallery for the main character. More than Tobey Maguire, Kristen Dunst makes those movies.
Don't you badmouth Janey-E, or it's the doghouse for you, mister!
I never really got that criticism, and in the case of Blue Velvet it seems especially misplaced. He can depict some pretty disturbing violence, but it never feels exploitative. Even when it's fetishized and eroticized, the onus is always on the viewer to reckon with the morality of his or her enjoyment watching it.…
Yes, because in real life domestic violence and abuse NEVER happen.
God, I hope not. I don't know if I want Cooper to stay with his fake little family, like some suggested on this board a while back, but I also hope Lynch doesn't go for that kind of pathos. I don't think it's his style either.
No, no, just everything contemporary. Nolan's Batman movies are just as good as Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.
Because they're also kind?
Great episode, capped off by the best musical number yet. So many little narrative circles closing up, and in such disturbing, heartbreaking ways.
Oh and also, nice callback to Gordon enjoying a FINE BORDEAUX! from episode 6.
Oh yeah, HDS singing, and Rebekah Del Rio with the best musical number yet!. I really appreciate how almost every episode winds down so slowly and gently with a song. I always feel sorry when we get to the Bang Bang Bar because I know we're getting close to the end.
