Lucas’s story plan was good but his execution was crap. The execution was done way better in animated versions. The new trilogy the story and the execution are both crap.

The character portrayal fits nicely within the theme of the movie. Assuming things without evidence. Editor says there was no evidence there was such a transaction. But by today’s standards, that just says from a standpoint, that there is also no evidence there wasn’t a transaction.
