It does look like a steel cage for a utility riser of some kind. There's a small sign sitting in front of it (probably something similar to the "call before you dig" signs we have in the U.S.).

Probably never. You didn't specify road car . . .

Ten bucks says the torque tube is ready to shatter into a million pieces as soon as you turn it over.

Technically, they do (did):

Dickety . . . Highly dubious!!!

Water does not make for a soft landing, believe it or not. The surface tension of water makes it like hitting a brick wall.

The Los Angeles Red Line subway system. It doesn't go anywhere, it's too short, it's too expensive, and there's also, you know, building a fucking subway in the most earthquake prone part of the country near a faultline, cause that's a fucking DYNAMITE idea. Seriously, the red line is unusable and the buses suck here

That will buff right out.

They use a Corvette pace car now (at least they did in Long Beach). So, I guess they'll be using a new(er) Corvette.

Anyone else seeing a new door panel trend?

I have to disagree regarding the MD-80 (and its progeny, the Boeing 717). Sure, it's loud, and really old. But being built before seats were crammed into planes like sardines means more legroom than most in coach. I'd gladly fly an MD-80 over a 737 or an A319 any day.

You all must be new here (except 472CID).

What car?

Who gave you the impression we use concrete for walls? Sheesh.

Sweet Jesus, look at that purple. Does it come with feathers, a boa, and some platform shoes for some big pimpin'?

In all American jurisdictions, actually. If there's a pedestrian signal head, or a traffic signal for that matter, you don't cross unless you have a green (or white). The same goes in all the European countries I've been to: if there's a signal, you don't cross. What's the point of having a green light for

You might not have noticed the pedestrian signal head on the far left of the video that changes from white to red when the vehicle signal head (the truck hit) turns red. So it IS/WAS jaywalking so long as the pedestrian crossed against a red pedestrian signal.

Not digging the butt, but I like the sound of twin-turbo V6 (so long as it's not for the V).

Which could also keep up with a Civic Si, yes. That would be the point.
