The Diane Warren song, yeah? Seriously, 80% of everything that woman writes is shockingly corny. And meandering.

Breath Assure. Man, that stuff works. I think the active ingredient is parsley oil. If I absolutely can’t brush, I’ll pop a few of them followed by some minty gum.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t seem to grok Tulip as she’s being written. I do adore Ruth Negga, but it’s not the Tulip that I remember - not one bit. (when I did my fantasy cast of the movie - while the books were still being written, I wanted to see Maria Bello in the role).

When I’m being disciplined, I do this with breakfast. Two spicy tuna cakes and a mug of vegetable soup. Some protein, about 2-3 servings of veg (quite a bit in the tuna cakes), and I’m pretty much never hungry until a reaosnable lunch time. I cook it all up on the weekend, and freeze in individual portions.

Oh, I spent plenty of years in the South, so I am schooled on what BBQ the food actually is. (And I go back to the Usenet days, but thanks anyway for your endearing condescension). And hey - if you or any other of the loads of people out there really thinks that when in Yankee-land, “cooking on a hot dog on the

Oh, the Great Barbecue Debate. I have to laugh at how upset people get about it. I’m from New England. We do not have any native smoked pork dish that we call “Barbecue”. The term is used to mean the outdoor charcoal or gas apparatus on which one can cook something - but as distinguished from a smoker (“cooked some

Back in law school - late 90's, New Orleans - I was a witness for a friend’s moot court argument. I stayed for the critique just to hear how everything was received.

Eating less isn’t necessarily eating healthy. If I’m eating healthy (which I define as mostly vegetables, a little lean protein, and no sweets or processed foods), the amount of shopping and prep/cooking is enormous.

I can’t overstate how important having the time/energy to cook and exercise can be to success. When the stress levels in my life are low, I have more time on my hands because less of it is spent spinning in circles in service of the stress. When I have a job that allows me to work exercise in to my daily routine,

Because (at least in the Northeast Corridor), traveling downtown to downtown avoids the time and expense of ground transportation to and from the airport. Going to NYC? Arriving at Penn Station is a million times more convenient than JFK or Laguardia.

The moment the airlines incentivized carring everything on board was when the flying experience really went to hell. Charging per pound for all luggage, whether carry on or checked, could be a good solution I think.

(I’m going to stop capitalizing their band name now because it’s tiresome and because I find them tiresome).

As the only survivor of the accident, she received a sum from the insurance proceeds. It was all placed into a trust for her medical care, spending from the trust has to be approved by the trustee. Other than that, as a teenager she didn’t have any assets.

Yeah, ditto. I represented a mother for one of these proceedings once. Her daughter was the only survivor of a terrible car accident and had TBI. She was doing really well in an excellent inpatient brain injury rehab center, could walk and talk and dress and feed herself. But when she turned 18, she could check

My west coast friends laugh, but at my office we had overturned bookcases and sprinklers fall out of the ceiling. My hundred year old rowhouse had some significant plaster damage as well. At least it wasn’t the first two things that came to mind: 1) bomb went off at the Pentagon (office is about a mile away); or 2)

A hotel, duh. Neutral territory.

Those two slay me.

Really, the only one worth watching.

Yep. I only have one D and all I can think is...no way.

I’m guessing that whomever wrote the blurb there hasn’t seen The Crow lately. It was one of my favorites of its time. It most certainly does NOT hold up well now. I had the unfortunate experience of talking a friend into watching it with me a few months ago...embarrassing.
