I wouldn’t have believed this had I not lived through it, but I have never been the same after my last bout of food poisoning - five years ago. For a solid year, I was nauseated after I ate pretty much anything (I lost 20 pounds off my 5’2” frame because I couldn’t stomach anything). Zofran (they give it to pregnant

I just binge-listened to all 13 episodes of the podcast. I was the one shouting NO NO NO in traffic upon hearing this was the last episode of the season. Thanks for making me feel a little bit less like I’m from some alien planet, Jolie. [FYI, for your demographics, I’m not an old man!]

Oh, I had the smoking dreams. Vivid. Always the same: I was smoking and them remembered that I had quit...and was full of shame and guilt.

Interestingly enough, a friend who is 8-months sober has the same dreams about alcohol.

Method: Cold Turkey

I make spaghetti squash all the time. I can't wait to try this.

People think I'm crazy, but I saved one huge pair work trousers - the only decent article of "fat clothes" I owned. I take them out every now and then and remind myself how unhappy I was when I was out of control with my habits.

The screen shot is not terribly impressive, but for my local weather (Washington, DC), nobody beats Capital Weather Gang.

It's a good litmus test for who actually cares about you.

Plunking in my own numbers, seems to me that this method breaks down when talking about smaller people? I'm 5'2" and 10-20 pounds overweight. But working with the calculator, the margin of calories between current weight and goal weight isn't all that great.

I have wanted to love Pope Francis unreservedly for the ways in which he is a radically good guy, doing good works. But this issue has always bothered me. He has the power to call off the dogs on this matter, and those damned dogs should have been called off.

Yeah, that's kind of what I mean by STFU - make a conscious effort to _not_ dominate the conversation.

As a white woman who identifies as a feminist, I have struggled with the question of "so what do I do now?" Because, well, yeah, it's kind of perplexing to figure out how to behave when you're the problem.

Yeah, infrared sauna ruptured a breast implant on someone where I was working. Going back to the premise - what evidence is there that we need to be "detoxified" by any method other than the organs doing their intended thing.

This is mind-boggling. Roger Goodell is a moderately educated man who is in charge of a sports league. He is not Henry Kissinger. The table in his conference room is not the roundtable of Camelot. What planet are we on?

I needed to read that. Really.

The emetophobe's Monday morning nightmare? These words, right there on my landing page.

Love it. Single, 40+, homeowner here. I feel like I have worked out my life so that all of my emotional needs get met between my friends and my family. I don't need to be in a romantic relationship to be close to people. So take the "I need you to feel complete" out of the equation, and my relationships with romantic

No kids by choice here - and I am glad you said this because I have always wondered as much. My mom divorced when I was pretty young, so I'm not a stranger to single-parent households. But I look at my friends with partners and kids and my friends who are single....and I see exactly what you've said here. The women

Along these lines, my best upgrade was deciding to feed my kitteh at night. He self-feeds dry food, but if I do the feeding at night, he can't run out before morning. On the few occasions I forget, he zooms around the house around 3 am and makes it known that something is not right.

aaaaand, I just ordered some. Thanks again.

These are brilliant, never heard of them. Thanks.
