The feed on my NBC Sports app inexplicably switched from the race to the intros to the Caps game on lap 51/53!!(Looking forward to ESPN next year.) You should have seen me lunging out of bed and sprinting (ok, staggering) through a dark house to get to a TV for the last lap.

“Alexa, flash the ECU to give me a very well-deserved extra 8 psi boost”

This is simply false. Over the last two days several critical cargo interests, including key DHS agencies, have been approaching foreign flag container carriers pressing them to move critical government cargoes that Jones Act carriers don’t have capacity for. Same deal for tanker, breakbulk, RORO and dry cargoes.

This broad waiver is only for 10 days, however, a really short window which only gets us through the news cycle, not the crisis. A products tanker isn’t like an Uber, it doesn’t show up at your doorstep in 10 minutes.  A much longer-term solution is needed. In the meantime, though, everybody involved in recovery

I once accidentally left the house with my wife’s key. When it didn’t open my car I realized my error, went inside, switched keys and went to work — not realizing that I had opened her trunk (parked around the corner). It sat there wide open in the pouring rain all day. Not a good scene.

I’m picturing a humongous bowl of beef stew with a GP2 engine in the middle.

Duncan Imports in Virginia appears to have a dozen for sale, but only two of those are manuals (both around $8900).

In the car behind you, I would have seen it coming down, thought “I can make it!!” floored it, and hit the tree trunk face-first.

Here, I’ve made some tweaks to the i Vision Concept design, I think it looks a little better this way

What’s the deal with Rob Emslie? I’m embarrassingly addicted to NPOCP. Can you get Rob to write more stuff for Jalopnik?

I owned a 1979 Spider for years, I really love the design, and this example looks great. But with a pretty primative suspension these cars handle surprisingly poorly, especially in comparison with its Fiat contemporaries X1/9 and 131 Mirafiori (I grew up with a driveway littered with Fiats because we’re idiots.) Pretty sure Kim Jong-un now has my Amazon wishlist. Awesome.

I suggest ditching the carbon fiber trim and putting on a set of steelies...

In a local mystery, an unidentified middle-aged man was found dead from an apparent head trauma in a neighborhood playground earlier today. Curiously, the medical examiner noted that the the victim also suffered two severe ankle sprains in the moments before his death.

Is the A class basically the GLA minus the lift kit and big plastic trim bits? They look similar and seem to have the same wheelbase, interior, etc.

Lights should be on big knobs. In olden times before lights were automatic, I was driving a girlfriend’s Accord through twisty country roads in central Virginia in the middle of the night. Going around a quick bend, I pulled the well-worn stalk to put on the high beams, and accidentally turned off the lights, plunging

Honda engines were mostly uncompetitive from 2000-2008 with BAR, Jordan, Super Aguri and their works team. They won nothing, and actually got worse as time went on. Other than Senna-era nostalgia, there was no real reason to expect Honda to do any better this time around.

Last time around (2000-2008) Honda engines spent 8 years fluctuating between unremarkable and crappy. As an engine supplier for BAR and Jordan, then for their works team and - oh dear god - Super Aguri, I think they only had one noteworthy year, a (distant) second place constructors championship finish for BAR in
