When I was looking to replace my ‘95 4Runner 3.0 A/T, I passed on a pretty clean Passat W8 4Motion WAGON and a 52k mile, pretty much immaculate 1990 525i. I love the ‘03 GX 470 I ended up getting, but there are some days I just wish I had one of those two.

I think Ford already did that with the new-gen Expedition.

AFAIK they have their own testing facility next to their shop.

Unfortunately, when I starred this post, it no longer had 69 stars. My sincerest apologies

Not exactly unique. GM experimented with a diesel V5 back in the 70s.

I still have yet to see a full-on frontal shot of this car, and from what you can see from the other shots, that’s probably a good thing. Also, the rear end is ripped straight off of the new Vantage, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Oh, my bad. Thought you were comparing the LT1 and whatever this new engine was. That said, a big reason for the GT350's lack of torque is the flat plane crank, not necessarily natural aspiration.

Yep. And it’s not just performance cars, either. I guarantee a 6.2 Silverado will be on the road hundreds of thousands of miles longer than a 3.5 EB F-150.

Haha, good one. I don’t see a small displacement V8 with average sized turbos (likely with an AR optimized for high-end performance) making more torque in a better powerband than the LT1. I mean, just look at that torque curve (or rather lack of a curve).

I’m cool with the mid-engine layout, and it looks like the current 6.2 will be an option in it as well. The 6.2 might not be the most advanced engine, but it’s got its merits. The cam-in-block setup means it’ll fit in a mid-engine car no problem, its simplicity means maintenance costs will be astronomically lower than

Wait, are we giving a shit about Uber drivers now?

God this is depressing.
