I can understand that, but there’s also the waiting game. Unless Tesla can really ramp up production, people who want to purchase one after they start getting delivered is probably going to have to wait a couple years. So should they pay the $5-10k premium to get it two years earlier? Some might think that’s worth it,

7 or 8 for sale in the Seattle area below $55k.

Is there any precedent out there for having warranties be non-transferable in any major car company? Haven't heard of that happening in a long time.

I wonder how many of the first wave of owners are going to take delivery of their car and then immediately try to sell it for a markup? I doubt people will be able to sell/transfer their deposit to others by selling their spot in line.

I'm going to put a vinyl sticker that looks like a mini Aston Martin grille on mine. Would make the front look better.

The really crazy ones like in this video aren’t all that common, they are mostly show trucks and don’t get used for much actual work. But the ones that are just done up with lights and stuff, you would probably not even be able to tell the difference in the daylight. You have to attend some of the shows to really see

These are everywhere in Japan. In Okinawa they do a weekly car show dedicated just for them. They also show up quite often at shows and gatherings all over Japan, sometimes at Daikoku Futo (the famous Yokohama rest stop/parking lot) too. Really cool, especially when they do murals on them that even blend in a bit of

I had halogen projectors on my GT-R. The simple change to HID improved light output immensely without compromising the pattern or safety of oncoming drivers. At this point there would be no reason to not use HID projectors.

They need to hurry up and make projector HID lights (at a minimum) the standard for all new cars in America. I hate seeing brand new cars sold with halogen headlights. I mean they’ve made backup cameras (which I’m all for) required, so we can see behind us better, but did they forget about seeing ahead of us? Halogens

The USDM IS300? No.

The JDM Altezza RS200 with the 3SGE “BEAMS” engine? Absolutely.

For a car to fit my family needs/desires it’s quite simple, it needs to seat 5 (smaller back seats are fine because for now my kids are small) and be a HATCHBACK/WAGON design, the dog needs to be comfortable too. DO YOU HEAR ME SUBARU? BRING BACK THE WRX HATCH! LIKE....YESTERDAY!

That makes no sense. The unveiling isn't until tonight. The lines will be gone and everyone will have already went home anyways.

I would expect the base car, which will be $35k will likely have a 200ish mile range sub-5sec 0-60. Even that sound awesome to me.

I can afford a Model S, but I would rather save $40k and get a Model 3. What's your point?

400ish in line now in Bellevue WA.

You can read whatever you want from my comment. But the overt message is "the Hellcat is a terrible shitty car."

So comparing two awesome cars and offering a shitbox with a giant engine as an alternative?

Here’s an interesting side story, I’ll leave names and car make/model out of it, just to keep the EPA out of this, in case they are watching...

I think the only things that could make it more Texas is a stepside bed and two tone gradient/fade paint. Those are the two most common noticeable things I remember about seeing trucks when I was in Texas.

Public roads are not a place to have "fun."
