Because they aren't meant to replace your eyes, they are meant to augment them. You can see things with your eyes that the backup camera cannot see. But the backup camera can see things that it is impossible for you to see.

You may even (gasp!) need to use a backup camera, which you certainly don’t in the little hatch.
don’t “see” so well in heavy rain or fog, and can’t operate properly under those conditions when visibility is less than 4 or 5 car lengths
Read up on that story. This is another case of “cars are smarter than humans” (especially car salesmen). The XC60 they were testing there wasn’t even fitted with the Volvo “city safety” system for automatic braking.
I’ve driven them, owned them, done full rebuilds on them. Compared to a 240sx or a 4th-Gen F-Body, they were pretty decent.
Stay in the right lane then, I rarely have anyone riding my ass or getting pissed off (as far as I can tell) because there is at least one or two more lanes to the left of us for passing.
If doing something as simple as following the fucking rules of the road qualifies me for sainthood, sure I'll take it.
If by fun, you mean “follows the rules of the party host and respects their property“ yes, I’m a blast.
Seattle. We have a low speed limit here, 60mph on the freeway. You can’t justify breaking the law because many people do it. There are plenty of people like me who stay out of everyone’s way and just do the speed limit in the right-most lane. I will not break the law just to fall in line with others doing it as well.…
Because the speed limit is a rule, we should follow it. Why not drive down the wrong side of the road? Why refrain from passing on double yellow lines? Why bother having headlights on at night?
They need to fix their car. Or install a GPS speedo or use their smartphone. Dozens of ways to fix the problem or verify the speedo reading.
Then cops need to enforce the speed limit, strictly. Or install speed cameras to do it for them. Anything more than 5 over = ticket. This would minimize the speed differential, which is a cause of many accidents.
Appurtenance? Making use of that word-a-day calendar?
I absolutely read it, even though some have said they ar going to pull you over for 1mph over, they won't. It's a scare tactic, one that you don't need to worry about if you follow the speed limit.
Or, they could just follow the speed limit and not have to worry about a ticket at all.
I’m with you. I’m the one, regardless if I’m in my kit car or my i3, I’m in the right lane doing as close to the speed limit as I can (easy in the i3, not so much in the T70 kit). Speed differential is what leads to some accidents, which is why I wish everyone would follow the speed limit. If the speed limit is 25,…
Thank you for your answer sir!
What was the reasoning behind going so far away from the heritage of the Skyline GT-R as far as styling is concerned? I understand to be a world beater it needed something bigger/better than the RB26, but what about styling? Many people (me included) would argue that the R34 GT-R reigns as one of the best looking cars…
I love what Volvo is doing with their new designs. The only thing that passes me off is that they still haven’t brought the newer V40 to the US. Test drove a barely used one last time I was in Japan and it’s such a great looking car.
