They just renewed the solar tax credit.

Sweet! The least desirable 400hp car in the world.

24 months, 10k per year. That's all I needed anyways.

They will probably start taxing at some point, but my solar panels provide just enough energy for my home and one EV to have me at “net zero” each year. My power company paid for my L2 (240v) charger at home ($600 of it at least, total with install was $800). Federal and state subsidies are also paying for my PV

Yes, does owning an i3 preclude me from being a classic car enthusiast? I also love making my own small furniture items as a hobby, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t raid Ikea for furnishing my kids’ rooms. :)

But the subsidies aren’t being taken away until the price on them comes down enough to be competitive. Once you come out of hypothetical-land and join us here in America, let me know, I’ll treat you to a tour of a federally subsidized Boeing factory.

No, I was using 100 miles as a nice round easy to understand number. I don’t have REX, don’t want it, don’t need it, too expensive. In the Spring and Fall my estimated mileage typically showed right around 100 miles because no A/C and I use the i3 as a city car mostly. You get much better range in slow speed stop/go

Those are extremists. Most of us (EV drivers) are reasonable people who also own at least one gas vehicle. I don't blame all Muslims for terrorism, don't blame all EV drivers for eco-terrorism.

I didn’t purchase, I leased. I was shopping for an economy car, I checked out the i3 on a whim, then BMW offered me $230/mo, nothing down. I couldn’t even get a decently equipped Fiesta for that much. So again, for my situation, nothing but a older used car would make more financial sense, but as a rule I only DD new

They are getting cheaper, so eventually the tax subsidy will be reduced and/or eliminated. But in the meantime, the subsidies and discounts DO exist so he vehicles ARE economically viable. You can live in hypothetical-land all you want, the rest of us live in a place called the real world.

I want them to bring the wagon back to the US so bad.

With the amount of money spent on oil wars, every damn person in America could have an EV for free and probably some solar panels on their roof.

I’m not either, must have fat-fingered something on my calculator, or made a simple math error. For us here in the PNW, electricity is very cheap, and gas is somewhat high, so it all evens out.

It’s not about stupidity entirely, much of it is his general attitude towards this entire thing. Read over his other responses in this article, they are hilarious, which is why I think he might just be trolling.

You get it, Serious Gord is either stupid enough to the point of being completely incapable of doing basic math, or he’s trolling.

Can't comment with a shred of knowledge, get out of the discussion.

Yes, they do last 100,000 miles without maintenance or repair.

I dunno, why don't you ask one of the three V8 equipped cars in my garage. How does it feel being totally clueless?

Here’s another keyword for you “MILLIONS”

As in how many dollars it costs to buy an original one.

That car and that road are well-suited for eachother.
