I think you can kill the notifications within FB though, so you don't have to worry about seeing the popups and stuff. That's what I did (prior to the messenger app)
I'm fascinated that people are so utterly against the idea of a standalone messenger app that this is even necessary. First, it was hysteria over the permissions, then it was "well, I just don't want a second app". I don't get it.
I also have a Bellroy..(but the Hide & Seek), and I can't say enough about how much I love it. Mine isn't AS slim, since it has a few more slots, but still allows me to carry everything, access the cards I use most, and not be a huge bulge in my pocket. And the quality of the leather is great.
