People aren’t saying he was afraid, people are saying he quit. Which isn’t a new accusation for Newton, and a reputation he’s had since Auburn. When things are going well he’s all smiles, but once a game starts to slip away from him he just folds up and calls it a day.

I think the greatest compliment is that the players he coached on defense came forward and gave him credit, one after another, for their kick-ass season. That says volumes.

(jumps back) (attempts to use heat vision to blow up ball before it’s recovered)

I don’t want “fun” football full of pretty scoring plays that make advertisers happy, but a 7-6 defensive struggle/bloodbath/slugfest/war of attrition.

They may be interested in wasting taxpayer money. That’s a trendy thing these days in NH.

“A country without a single public museum dedicated to the history of slavery”

Doesn’t Maz say that it’s Luke’s light saber and say that she’ll explain how she got it at another time? Or does she tell that to someone else? Suffice it to say that it did not strike me at the time as some kind of feminist victory. Maz barely registers as female, which is why the made sure to toss that “boyfriend”

I don’t believe they talk about Luke, but rather about the Force.

With four other players each I agree with you, since that’s the weakest part of Kobe’s game. But one-on-one, Kobe would kill Jordan if we had the time machines. You are very wrong.

One of the interesting things about LeBron’s career arc is that he came into the league idolizing Jordan, but at some point realized that Jordan is a complete asshole, and seems to have slowly distanced himself from him.

Wouldn’t have “Bail” made so much more sense? The man who cared for her and raised her and died fighting for freedom?

See, this stuff right here is why I never understood the big outcry when Disney tossed out the EU. There were a handful of cool stories buried under a mountain of pure amateurish garbage. I will gladly sacrifice Thrawn to free the stories from the shackles of this kind of nonsense.

(And hey, why not let players choose if Link is a boy or a girl in the next one?)

Exactly. I would see a sign that says “tipping is appreciated but not expected or mandatory” and know there was invisible tiny print there saying “but, if you don’t tip, you are an asshole”.

Conservatives do not have a monopoly on this behavior, as a look through the city ordinances of San Francisco and Seattle lays quite bare.

That’s not how things work in the U.S. “tipping optional” means tipping expected. Black tie optional means wear a tux. Gifts optional means bring a gift. It’s how we do politeness.

saying what? again people hate uncertainty, travel writers talk about that at length. Tips are pretty much used only in the food industry, vary rarely anyplace else, so people don’t have a strong feel of what to do/how much/etc.

I feel the same way and that’s also why I feel like the only way to change the tipping system is to completely ban tips, I get the tipping optional is ideal but I don’t think it’s possible

My assumption is the restaurant is really afraid of the customer not knowing what to do and feeling uncomfortable, then not coming back. Guidebooks to European travel spend pages describing how and when to tip. Right now, things are pretty clear; if your not a dick you tip absolutely minimum 15% and usually more like

I think the concern is that customers will think that “tipping optional” means “I have to tip.” Kinda like how when your significant other tells you that you that getting them a birthday present is optional.
