It is pretty trivial at this point for a car maker to implement chanageable exhaust noise modes, both up and down. Obviously, it adds cost, but pretty much any car that needs the ability to quiet it down is probably already fairly spendy. It’s not like a base model camry is going to need it.

Sleeping babies are usually pretty quiet, awake babies can be outrageously noisy.
I disagree. They shouldnt have the opportunity to pay for impound and service back to spec. They can have it back as a cube on their front lawn.
I will hazard a guess:
As a lib, I feel so owned after seeing this video.
Another advantage, of course, is that you can take it with you. But it kind of sucks that it’s heavy and doesn’t appear to hold very much.
Cars that have 48v systems use a motor/generator in place of a regular alternator for the stop start, which also gets rid of the starter motor. It’s MUCH smoother than the stop start tech on legacy vehicles.
It works when it’s implemented well, otherwise turning it off is just a routine part of getting in your car. My wife’s Volvo, it works fine. My Jeep, absolutely not. With my last two cars there’s been such a long delay in getting power back to the engine you instinctively go to pull out of a turn safely and end up with…
Sure it’s kind of annoying, but it works.
Back in 2019 the NTSB looked into making brake override systems mandatory and the decided not to. The reason?
Also, why are you left foot braking on the street? There is no reason to be driving so hard/fast on the street that you need to introduce your left foot. I’m all for spirted driving, I do it plenty myself. However, there is a threshold and if you are pushing your car that hard? Just stop and take it to the track.

Volvos have rear fogs. They are bright
My ‘94 Saab 9000 CSE had a rear fog light. Came in handy a few times. Both in heavy fog as well as a way to warn someone with bright lights too close to me.
Nope, they usually have a special switch on the dash (MB and Volvo) that turns them on separately from all the other lights on your car. I’ve noticed that some people new to these cars tend to turn it on because ‘if it’s brighter makes my car more visible to people behind me, and since I’m a special owner of a fancy…
Same here. It’s depressing sometimes. Oh well. Welcome to the shit show.
