This was a tough one for me. I am usually very receptive of dream/hallucination scenes, but I felt like the story completely stalled here. It's the first episode that didn't really work for me. That said, Malek's acting is amazing. He embodies Elliot perfectly.

He not only uses a shotgun, he uses a submachine gun to lay down suppressive fire. The Headless Hormasen of the first season of Sleepy Hollow was awesome.

I wonder how many here are like me; I have not watched the first season past the first episode. The review and the commentary are both constantly and perhaps inevitably comparing the two, but I'm curious as to whether not having seen the first season allows a perspective that is at a distance from that of those who

Given MoS, that is totally justified.

Are you just catching up? Max is a synth and Leo has some synth-like properties; he was healed via power charging. More hints as to his nature come in later episodes.

I haven't seen Real Humans and so can't compare. But I am thoroughly enjoying Humans. It's in solid B category, with occasional moments and insights easily rising up to A.

I feel you're way too hard on the show and have let your minor nitpicks affect your judgement as a whole. The only part of your critique I agree with is of Niska and that because I find the writing of her character unsubtle, not the idea of a character like her.

Plus…I know grades don't matter, but come on, this was A- or at least B+.

Pregnant bondage would be unsettling for most people. It's meant to be, I'm sure.

The conspiracy killed it.

Also, beyond squicking people out, I think that scene was meant to show that the power dynamics in Tyrell's and his wife's relationship is more complicated than "I'm in charge" for either of them.

Power bottoming. It's a thing. A fun thing.

Very late to this review, but I am loving this show. The touches of humour, the deft character work and the underlying reality is great. I honestly don't care much whether Mr. Robot is real or not, though this episode clearly points to not.

I suggest you call Warner Brothers now and ask them to hire you on a script doctor.

Like I said elsewhere, I think Ma Kent's speech is nothing like Pa Kent's character, who was for me absolutely the worst thing in MoS. I completely agree with the idea that her speech is about how him being a hero is by choice and not obligation. She isn't saying 'Fuck them all; let them die." She's saying "Help them

Exactly. There's a reason those three movies are my favourite MCU movies.

Someone…someone agrees with me. Whoah.

I get the anger towards this; I hated Pa Kent with everything I had in MoS. But I think people are doing this speech a disservice by ignoring everything she says before that. Maybe I'm just being an optimist, but I feel like she was telling Clark that being a hero, shouldering that burden is a choice he has, not an

Why did you have to mention Jonah Hex? Just why?

I just wanted to point out that having anarchic ideals would not mean proving that everyone is immoral when not submitted to rules, but exactly the opposite of that.
