I have nothing to add other than that’s one of my favorite X-Files episodes, and had probably the best art direction of the entire series.

Caro also made WHALE RIDER which is a really remarkable piece of filmmaking. This is very good news.
Oh for sure, I wasn’t commenting on the nature of story itself, just on WGN’s capacity for bringing high production quality to their projects. If UNDERGROUND (and OUTSIDERS, as someone else mentioned) are an indicator of their commitment — and budget — I’d be optimistic that they’ll do it well.
I had too look up who Riley Finn was but yes, he plays an abolitionist lawyer. I’m so excited for you, to be able to see it for the first time! I was just knocked back by it. S2 starts on March 8th I think, so make sure you have it all under your belt before then~
Oh my god its so good. Very hard, in many ways for obvious reasons, but the quality of the storytelling, the cast, the cinematography, just all of it is so incredible.
The casting, direction, and production values on UNDERGROUND were amazing last season, I’d be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this.
WGN is producing UNDERGROUND, which is just about to start its second season. I *highly* recommend catching up on S1 and tuning in to S2 in March. It was embarassingly overlooked at the Emmys last year.
OH DAMN! That closing zinger from his daughter! Aces! Blessings upon her and her family, I hope the rest of their days come with peace, laughter, joy, and delicious food.
OH MY GOD!!!! I screamed out loud.
He refers to it obliquely in the bar on Tycho Station. It seemed clear to me, and I haven’t read the books either.
LOL I had the same reaction early on, it took me a while to realize he’s actually a very natural actor. I have a really hard time taking hot guys seriously, and its always a surprise to me when they turn out to have talent.
I’m a fan of Steven Strait, he’s a good everyman and super easy on the eye. I’m always surprised when really attractive men turn out to be good actors, and not doofus prettyboys.
That was a great scene for the all the reasons described above, but also for the creeping horror it triggers in the viewer and in Holden as the audience in the conversation. Not only are you left wondering where the conversation is going, and grossed out when you understand what Amos is talking about, but you are…
I was hopeful that he would show up more on the CW. Their effects are cheesy and their scripts are pretty facile, but at least the CW understands genre storytelling and tries to make a go of it. But, he only showed up that one time and did *not* slap Ollie on the bum like I said he should.
Yeah hard pass on the chunks, I’m paralyzed with agony as they’re making their merry way through my cervix.
Can Netflix please pick up the franchise and do it right, chain-smoking and boy-kissing and all of it? A for effort from CBS, but moody genre really isn’t their thing.
Seconded.
It probably slid off his tiny finger and rolled under the desk.
Enslaved? Don’t be dramatic. This is a business transaction. She married him for his money, she’s sticking around til the prenup deadline rolls over, then she’s out. This was the same deal he had with Marla, only he threw her over for Melania before she could qualify for the big payday. There was probably an…
