Why do you care so much?
Why do you care so much?
God, I hated Ready Player One. It took me three tries to finish it, which I only did because everyone told me it got better (it didn’t) and I was white-knuckling it through the last 50 pages or so. I’ll be giving this one the swerve.
He definitely has a Libertarian bent which in this country at least tends to manifest as right-wing. I’m about 2/5 into Seveneves and I can see clearly where its headed and it makes me pretty uncomfortable. I’ll keep at it, its gotten good reviews, but I have a feeling I’m not going to like it. Two women I know really…
Chewing the tasty grass, the Holy Chao says “Mu”
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death or Feed Me!
Except that you can counteract warfarin with vitamin K. The newer anti-clotting meds have no such counteractive agent, so if you start bleeding excessively, you’re kind of fucked. Or so I’ve been told when I asked about switching from coumadin to whatever the most recent one was that’s been approved.
You can go on blood thinners and eat whatever you like, you just have to be consistent about it (ie no spikes or valleys of consumption) and let your doctor know so they can manage your dosage accordingly. (7 years on coumadin)
That’s his and Lisa Bonet’s daughter Zoe Kravitz.
His daughter’s band is playing at an Afropunk festival in Paris.
The last scene of the guy destroying his entire house and falling all over the place has me laughing. I do love me some good slapstick.
Easy: because a single lawsuit could wipe out the company that produces the vaccine, hurting or killing hundreds or even thousands as a result.
So because she’s the female half, she has no agency in this? Give me a break. People are complex and want different things at different times in their life. Maybe she’s good with the FWB dynamic.
Not a question, just an observation: that Ephrata video looked like a hell of a lot of fun to make (and reflects the subtext of almost every wedding I have ever attended), and you have a lovely view from your yard.
Stephen Fry ag labhairt as Gaeilge made me cry. Like, real tears, at my desk, at work.
Except for the Irish ones, who aren’t British.
Well, Hiro is explicitly Black American and Japanese, so I don’t think they could get around that even if they wanted to. The fans would freak out. (Well, except for the racist ones who didn’t read the book very closely, like the ones who spazzed out when Amandla Stendberg was cast as Rue in The Hunger Games.)
Oh for sure. Allegedly, although I haven’t heard a peep about this since the first rumor two years ago, Joe Cornish has the option to write & direct a film version of this. He did “Attack the Block” which you must see if you haven’t, and there are two moments in there that to my fangirl eyes look like shout-outs to…
I thought we already knew that Ridley would be playing Han & Leia’s daughter. Did I make that up?
Neal Stephenson has been asked many times about filming I think “The Diamond Age” (allegedly SyFy has the option as a multi-part movie, or a short series?) and his response kind of calms me down in times like this which is basically, it doesn’t undo the book. The book is still there, unaltered. You can always go back…
The hell it isn’t. I heard the barista tell the guy in front of me to try his coffee without milk before putting it in, like the dude doesn’t already know that he doesn’t like black coffee.
