Agreed. I also see the parallel in that like Amy, Clara sees the Doctor as an omniscient and omnipotent figure, and the realization that he isn't feels like a betrayal to her. More than his skimming over the truth, it's his inability to account for his actions (not because he's flaky, but because he also doesn't know)…
