I recently re-played GTA VC on PC on my modern rig about 2-3 years ago ... actually felt really damn good compared to its console-era releases and the lesser-powered PCs of that era.

Seemed much smoother than back-when, plus that story still felt good today.

Def agree on the GTA 4 tip. Way better city ambiance via NPC city-dwellers than in 5, actually enjoyed the driving very much, and the story was pretty damn cool, modern-day immigrant story set in recent-enough GWB-era earlier xenophobia (which probably will be made to look quaint compared to Trump-era).

I used to make Doom mods in the mid 90s, but they always ended up being sound edits and level designs that were Pulp Fiction.

“Bring out the Gimp” was one of those mid 90s .wav files that we used repeatedly.

My friend made a room in which the Imps had their roar noise replaced with just “Gimp” from the same sound file…

One of the best Civ 5 mods was one that added a trade route per Caravansary, which rendered Venice as useless as it should have been.

I generally just use Really Advanced Setup and leave Venice out of the mix.

Would like to see them have an Information Era type of fictional unit ... a genetically-engineered monster called the “Spider Paratrooper” that can literally teleport anywhere from friendly territory (like the XComs) and then bite the enemies resulting in a 1-hit kill on anything.

Would make it a priority as any other…
