Pretty awesome!

Yet another reason why the MLB cannot have nice things.

Nah, going to invest in a couple upgrades on my PC. Riding this console gen out, personally.

Yup. I mean if it were a couple paragraphs with little reasoning or basically quick write-ups for YouTube vids, or just an excuse to post a .gif with not much else, every day, then that’s a different story. But as-is, nah, it’s a beloved game by many, and there are going to be a number of posts about it ongoing

Most of the weapons are fictionalized and re-named a bit because Fallout’s gameplay isn’t seeking to be a pure FPS. But the thing with the upcoming modding (and these games from Fallout 3 onward have a maaaaajor dedicated modding community), there are plenty of folks who specifically re-create and mod IRL weapons into

I’m not sure how the guns compare, but I’m also unsure about what ‘cheap’ is defined as in your response. Maybe someone else with more exact loves can break it down!

It’s a bit like having auto-aim enabled, only I’m in control of it, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

what are your game genre and entertainment genre loves? that’s a good way to sort out whether to jump on this franchise train or skip it.

I hope they make it necessary, otherwise most people are going to come to the conclusion to just skip the crafting entirely. Would be a shame if it didn’t play into the character’s survival somehow past the point they start making good caps in-game.

there will be modding that works with the console versions too. plus, a mod creating more vendors selling useful stuff to speed up the gathering/crafting process is probably what’s going to happen as one of the many mods start dropping in the next few days.

I shoulda looked at all the comments first! Was thinking the same thing, and yeah, I’ve been noticing that’s what I do in other games that have some sort of crafting like Dead Rising, with the limited carrying space or weight.

It’s going to change how Fallout is played. With more useful items, it’s not just a hoard everything mandate ... now it becomes a test of remembering where one saw some useful stuff, in order to finish up whatever the player was doing, in order to come back later and get that useful stuff that there was just no room

something tells me that they won’t be able to ignore engine updates for much longer. the lifelike quality of many games re: graphics are going to compel them via lost sales from graphics-demanding consumers. it’ll happen, but apparently not just yet like you said.

mods will allow for that default option to be turned off if it isn’t an option in the default game menu. they’ve had ENB mods that allow for color palette tweaks and other adjustments on PC for both F3 & FNV, and now with the modding ability on the consoles, that’ll be a reality for everyone just as soon as a modder

no mention yet of Reggie Jackson’s 26 point 4th Quarter last night vs. the Blazers? Detroit shrek’d ‘em. Come on Deadspin, say something before they possibly get murdered by GS on a b2b on the road.

it’s amusing how the fine line between homage and theft comes from whether or not the new source credited the previous source.

ikr? always bothers me when people rush to scream for cutting social programs after a report of a fraud within them. yet they say nothing when there’s an insurance fraud story.

i’d go with the last reason as the primary. if they didn’t like games, they wouldn’t want their partner or children or anyone else playing them.

Edit: I apologize for firing back and feigning the same thing in my last comment to you. I’m getting too old for flame-wars.

I kinda feel the same way. I mean if they ever released an HD remake of GTA San Andreas, I would buy it full-price. I’d also still enjoy the throwback compatibility as well ... graphics aren’t that big of an issue with me due to being an old guy and growing up with Atari 2600 & NES. It’s all gravy past n64-PS1 era.
