I think they had it right prior to Red Dead Redemption.

Not a fan of Rockstar’s open world free roam setup. It’s not so bad though if you start up your own private session in free roam, and invite friends. Problem is, last I played, after doing a job or race, it would often jettison my friends and I onto different public servers.
Wasn’t the first 3-1 collapse Doc Rivers helmed in a playoff series, that’s for sure.
Yup! That’s the one!
Shit.
I think the 90s got swept up and had to keep with what was happening with computers, which was an exponential increase in processing power, spearheaded by Intel. Computers kept getting way more powerful every 2-3 years, it seemed like by the time 2000 hit, the computers out there were a handful of times more powerful…
In the dawn of Genesis/Mega Drive, the only time that weird stuff worked for Sega was because on all competitive fronts, both the Genesis/Mega Drive and SNES were comparable in price, comparable in 3rd party support, and comparable for in-house exclusives. It only worked, imo, because everything was even-steven down…
I remember getting a free video from Sega in the mail before the release of the Saturn. And I have lost it to time and moving, but I remember that it was a terrible ad campaign, full of that weird-as-possible ‘cool’ pitch that has never worked nearly as well as the pitch that tends to always work, which is “this is…
I think it took me at least 4-5 playthroughs and at least 300 hours (probably closer to 500) to see everything there was to see in the game. Over 4 years ... and that included plenty of interiors that I had missed which were not connected to the main story or any of the side quests.
My fav was the virtual reality segment.
It kind of defeats the purpose of an open world, is my opinion.
That’s a good question. I wonder what the modders decided was the outcome for that story ... would be cool if the outcome was random, where you could see Legion, House, NCR, or any of the factions in the game being the eventual ruler of the Mojave.
FNV places some higher-level deadly hostiles in a couple of directions (Cazadors, Deathclaws, Super Mutants & Nightkin), basically funneling you the long way around the map on a loop toward New Vegas.
Check out a YouTuber named Gopher. He runs a ton of mods, and he gets his game to look spectacular, with no stutters, the whole fancy modded Vegas deal goes on with that guy. Great LPer, too.
I caught a whole block of Cartoon Network’s shows a couple weeks ago, along with Adventure Time.
In GTA IV, their subways were also pretty much the only way to escape full stars, since the bubble would pretty much cover the entire map, making it impossible to outrun it via vehicles.
Yeah, that GPS-accurate location phenomenon by the cops was incredible for annoyance.
This issue with kids happens in every industry. Kids are far easier to create desire and want for products and services, when compared to adults. They don’t have the experience of seeing enough stuff and getting straight what’s necessary and what’s less so, comparatively. That’s why companies in any industry where…
How is internet infrastructure organized in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere? Is it run by the state? Or do private sector organizations own and operate it, as they do in the United States?
