Am I the weirdo here for not being excited or even tepidly interested in this Joker movie? Like, I keep forgetting it’s happening, and then I see something about it and it’s just an “Oh, they’re still doing that” reaction.

Correct me if wrong: Taskmaster —> Wilson Slade (“the Terminator”) —> Deadpool
You know how people make a fuzz about unnecessary remakes and then the trailer is released and everyone then understands it’s a fresh take and embrace it and have fun with the idea?
That’s a really bad trailer.
And if it’s done in a way that’s incredibly sensitive and about the story, what are they worried about? I don’t understand that.
There is a certain element in Hollywood that has absolutely no respect for you as an intelligent human. You are considered a simpleton and shill, good only for ticket sales.
I really, REALLY need everyone to stop with this. Having a different opinion on what constitutes good foreshadowing is not “not paying attention.”
This right here, Kotaku said it, foreshadowing doesn’t make up for character growth, and Daenerys went from 1 to 100 so fast it gave people whiplash.
“If you thought that turn on Game of Thrones felt rushed, surprising, or like it came out of nowhere...you haven’t been paying attention.”
Man, when Doctor Strange gave Tony the look that it was time... Tony knew what he had to do. He KNEW that he had to die in that moment to save everyone... the one who wanted to change the timeline the least had to die. THAT is sacrifice. THAT is fantastic writing. THAT is what the Marvel movies have done SO WELL from…
I kept it together when Widow died; I didn’t really flinch when Bartons’ family was dusted. I didn’t even really feel bad when Tony died.
that plot synopsis is too damn many things for a start
I mean I get why they didn’t - and it really was Lawrence Kasdan’s job to map it all out. TFA was supposed to be a proof of product that SW could work moving forward. TLJ was an attempt to break loose from the shackles of the OT. Putting those two things together make it nigh impossible for TROS to toe the line…
Hell, the only reason I’ll be seeing is because she’s directing. God know McG was never going to get another dime for me.
She’s the same age as Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale.
Half of the episode was good bye speeches. Which - might have worked if they didn’t plan to TAKE SPOCK WITH THEM INTO THE FUTURE. Sure. They’ll stay there forever. Never coming back. Spock has left the 22nd century for good.... Wait....
My biggest problem with Discovery is simple
Another movie I will be too much of a wuss to see and just read the wikipedia entry.
Oh shit, Professor Chidi Anagonye’s in this?
I want a Section 31 series so much. That would be a really interesting take on Star Trek, largely because it’s one we’ve only dabbled in and never gone all-in on. A spy-themed thriller series seems like it would be good television.
