Normal sounds can sound unnatural in the woods. (long)

Our pet dog passed away unexpectedly late last year. We grieved and were despondent for months. It literally felt like there was a gray pall over us.

For whatever reason, this story really scares me. Much more than any of the others so far. I wish I could figure out why; all I know is that it’s going to stay with me a while!

My grandmother died when I was about 15 (which would make my younger brothers 7 and 5). She basically raised me, but by the time my brothers were born, she was a lot older and a lot of the physical/interactive child stuff fell to me: getting them up in the morning for school, dressing them, playing, changing

Not scary, but a couple of happy paranormal (?) bits.

I know many of you are here for the truly terrifying scary stories (me included!), but I’ve got a heartwarming one that I’ve been aching to share for years. Please stick with me, as I promise that there is a payoff after the setup! And with that, come along with me and travel back to a tour bus full of exhausted

My mom met Paula through the Pittsburgh Junior League in the mid-80s. They’d both moved to the area after getting married, and became fast friends.

Over the years, we went to many a summer cook-out at Paula’s lovely 1920s bungalow, where she lived with her husband and two young sons. But one gathering in particular,

So this story is not really scary but it was creepy when it happened and I hope it never happens again.

Thank god, I was afraid it might be canceled this year on account of 2020 is one giant horror show. I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks! Even if they keep me up at night, at least it’s not from the news.

I’m not a believer in ghosts or the afterlife or the supernatural, but horror comes in many forms. I used to take my toddler to and from daycare on the train. I always enjoyed those trips, but one evening something happened on our return trip that had me so frightened I was almost in tears. My daughter was a very

Stormy Night.

“You know this whole neighborhood is built over old Indian burial grounds, right?” is something you might hear growing up from someone who’s just trying to scare you, but in my case it’s not that much of a stretch from what the reality is. Not too far away from where I live is a place called Cahokia Mounds, which are

I don’t know when that person was active. This did happen a few years ago, so maybe. I suppose I could look these things up but I honestly am kind of afraid to google too much. I’m already freaked out enough just sharing this story. Cowardly as that may seem.

I post every year cause I’ve lived quite the haunted life. Last year I posted about phantom smells and wanted to do an update on that, briefly.

This made my day. I realize we’re living in a scary story but I need some creepy ghosts stat!

I have been refreshing Jezebel since 10/1 for this!! Much excite! Truly the only thing keeping me going during this dumpster fire that is October 2020

See, things like this are legitimately freaking terrifying because there is no actual conclusion. I like to believe they aren’t in immediate danger (as far as anyone knows), but hooboy.

I desperately want to sell my house and move up to the mountains, but stuff like this is going to keep me in town.

Motive Unclear

What’s In the Bucket?

I NEEDED THIS SO BADLY!
