You wouldn’t believe the hatred many roosians harbor for the US. Vlad Tepes Putin has done his propaganda job well.

It’s time to just sever Russia’s cables and call it a day.
It’s funny that a lot of what I find to be masculine involves being able to provide and survive and that solar and wind would give a bit of energy independence from corporate overlords. Especially with an EV which in an emergency can be used effectively as a generator for the house. Like if you want to be some kind…
Can we just ban Russia from the internet? Literally, just cut the cables.
I agree. The other thing to consider is that some people struggle to make it through the TSA checkpointeven with a TSA agent barking commands and telling them how to do it. Now imagine those same people trying to do it on their own...good luck.
I read a fiction novel, where terroists started bombing the security lines. Its a perfect vector now. Bags aren’t screened on entry to the airport - so a huge roller bag of c4 can come right into line - and there are often 1000+ people packed tightly waiting to get through a security bottleneck..
It’s like COVID. No one wants to be the entity that was perceived as not doing enough. The shoe bomber guy, one person and unsuccessful at that, created this shoe-off nonsense. Buy hey, can’t be seen as not going the extra, extra mile.
SO true, and that would be more thought then who I am talking about would bother with. They see EV as anti-masculine, they fear for their pick up trucks, ATVs, SxS, ice augers, snowmobiles and everything else they own gas powered and the gas powered rural culture they value. The see EVs, solar, and wind power as…
I agree. It’s intentionally a PITA so that people feel safe.
A 9/11 style takeover became impossible once they started locking the cockpit doors. That was the only real change they needed.
Exactly pre 9/11 most hijackings were to more or less fly the plane to “insert place” and by and large most passengers weren’t harmed. Post 9/11 with the idea that the plane will be used as a weapon itself, it just isn’t going to work, every able bodied person on that plane is gonna go full MMA on your ass, and…
I hear from a lot of the off road community I am in are constanting saying “the grid is not ready for EVs” then I say lets build that infrastructure with american jobs and american workers that can’t be outsourced. They say no.
In the past, the advice to passengers in a hijacking scenario was to sit tight and comply with the hijackers’ instructions. By and large, until 9/11, that advice had worked. Some hijackings had resulted in the deaths of a few passengers but the overwhelming majority of aircraft passengers had survived hijacking…
Some of this is just purely a political game. There are considerations that are legitimate for many buyers that have already been mentioned or just pure BS. I think the two that stick out the most, beyond the politics are: ranges and setup of chargers.
It has always been theater. A 9/11 style attack isn’t a reasonable attack vector anymore, the passengers would shut that shit down FAST. The only reason it worked like it did is because by and large when airplanes had been hijacked in the past it wasn’t to be used as a missile.
The TSA is designed to be noticeable, intrusive, and cumbersome, as a feature and not a bug. If it ain’t creating a whole hassle, then how will the public NOTICE the government is DOING SOMETHING about that terrorism stuff? It is pure theater like that. It is meant to be in your face, and down your pants, by design.
I disagree strongly; cost wont matter at all. I live in a red state, and they could give EVs away for free and these folks wouldn’t touch them. Everything’s symbolism in these parts — EVs signal “Democrat” here, and they wouldn’t be caught dead buying or doing anything that hinted they might support The Devil’s Party,…
Which any current EV can do round-trip, even in freezing weather. But they have been told that they will all die in 50 miles and burst into flames.
Now I’m super-curious about how you do “gas-powered church.”
I wonder what would happen if the CT was trying to pull a heavy (but still within the tow rating) trailer, starting on a hill? Would it cause it to roll back and have the same effect as this tug of war?
