Perhaps it's hard to make sure to photograph exactly what you need when you're blind? Finger on a page gives someone tactile feedback and the article says the device uses cues to tell when it has strayed from the text. Really ingenious.

Wow. The enthusiasm with which John Mood describes Ulysses makes me want to understand why he thinks the prose is sexy and funny.

I'm going to presume you're not joking, and give it a try. (The reading aloud part, maybe not the Irish accent part) I'm tackling another book that's taking me forever to get through right now, so it'll be awhile before I can try again. It's turning into an every-five-years thing: The Quinquennial Ulysses Attempt.

I've tried to read that damn thing three times. Can't get past the first 3 pages.

I'm with you. This is my new favorite show. It doesn't stand up to deep analysis, but that's okay. Great action, cheesy dialogue, even a heroic dog, what's not to love?

This is beautiful. Great choice of music, too.

That's perfect!!

I prefer the Swamp Donkeys' version. I can just picture the characters swaggering down Bourbon St. to that song.

That is cool.

I didn't have the misconception about Columbus, but I'm finding a few other things (like not seeing the Great Wall from space, and that Napoleon wasn't that short) that I did have misconceptions about. Great link!

This is a tough one. My first inclination is to leave Pyros alone, let nature take its course. However, you raise some good points. Perhaps 'meddling' is what's needed to make it successful. However, it's possible that they could meddle and it still doesn't get them the outcome they want. Nature is unpredictable.

I agree. The conversation was odd, to say the least. I don't know how anyone would have thought that was from a human.

Agree, agree, agree. I just got tinnitus 6 months ago and it is very tough to not completely lose your cool because that damn ringing just won't stop.

This is so adorable! Now I have to find the original poem….

Exactly.

While Helena was flirting with Trucker Hat guy, I was on edge, just waiting for her to snap on him. It was excruciating. Props to the show (writers, Tatiana, etc) for creating a character that is so believably unpredictable.

I've got tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.

Free kittens! I think NH wins.

I just assumed the other cub was taller. :-) But yeah, it's possible that's how the first one got over.

Hmm, I didn't think that went all the way through the barrier, but it's possible. He had to get through somehow.
