well if you are going to lose 1/4 of your range in extreme heat and 1/3 of your range in extreme cold maximum range matters. also if it takes 30 minutes plus to top off the (elctricity?) tank you better be able to drive for at least 6 hours without stopping.

Yep, Volt was one of the few I seriously considered since it balanced its self properly, electric for commuting, but gas for long distances. Had it lasted into the timeframe I was still actually commuting it would have been a justified purchase for me...

It’s honestly criminal how good the Volt was for the US market and how badly it’s cancellation hurt us in the long run. I recently bought a 2018 Volt with all the trimmings and very low mileage used for about 25k, and it is basically perfect for my purposes.
