So far, battery packs seems to do much better that your typical Chrysler ICE engine.

The popularity of electric cars in Norway doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the weather. In fact, electric cars lose a great deal of range in frigid weather.

Multiple 1st gen Volts out there with 300k+ miles and no battery range degradation.

Battery pack life has little to do with it, as studies have shown that battery packs don’t degrade very quickly.

The rate of advancement of battery technology and expecting them to become a lot cheaper (therefore causing massive depreciation to these vehicles as the battery is the biggest cost) is probably a bigger

It’s not MY viewpoint, it’s a basic rule of good design.

The exterior look & drive I can deal with, but frankly I still think that interior is disgusting, especially for a ~$57k as tested price. That is 340i or C43 AMG money, and frankly the interior doesn’t even match the design or usability of an ATS or Q50, neither of which have been praised for intuitive infotainment

Man, Tesla fanboys are worse than Apple fanboys. They can throw any piece of shit at you and you’ll lap it up. Feel free to respond with excuses for the constant production delays, build quality and reliability issues, etc. with “it’s in beta” if that makes you feel better about your four-wheeled iPhone.

To be honest it reminds me of a Largemouth Bass:

Pretty neat! I’ve been looking forward to exactly this review. Thanks for doing it. The only observations I can make are:

And FWIW if others see this comment, it’s 200,000 DOMESTIC sales, not total sales.

That screen is a deal-breaker for me. When I drive at night, unless I NEED my nav for some reason, I turn the screen OFF because it’s a distraction that I don’t need and my eyes dilate much better without it on...which, you know, makes it so I can see stuff around me and carry more speed. My gauge cluster is also

I️ am really starting to hate Tesla’s. They are for rich people who have not a care in the world for cars yet when they buy them they suddenly become the biggest fan of their car. Everything about that model 3 oozes snobbiness. “Everything in my car is accessed through a touch screen, it’s the future!” Yea tell

Literally everything else is accessed through the car’s command center menus, which will feel very familiar if you’ve spent any time with a smartphone or a tablet.

I believe his comment is referring to Tesla’s expectation that they will hit the 200k cumulative sales mark in Q1 of 2018, which means the credits for Teslas phase out.

I’m a hardcore modernist architect, and I find the design of this car incredibly boring, especially the interior. Put the gauges where they belong. Form follows function.

Yeah, the speedometer position seems really hard to wrap my head around,

-No keys is dumb
-No cluster is dumb (proven by Mini, M-B with the Smart and the Toyota yaris which all went back to the normal cluster placement)
-Retractable door handles are dumb (hello ice in winter !)

My friend’s 15 year old C-Class has electric moonroof shades for its similarly large, two part moonroof. It’s strange that they wouldn’t include this in a car 15 years newer. It can’t be very expensive.

I can’t get over how bad that tablet dash looks. Like it’s unfinished. I hate it. Plenty of people are going to like it and I’m sure it’ll be a good car, I just hate the dash.

I was driving my BMW Wagon this weekend at minus 17 F. You close the sunroof shade because of how cold the glass is.
