Honda is in the UK, do they just not sell? I ask because Top Gear had the Jazz on before.

There’s a difference between hating all marketing, and hating bad marketing. This is the latter.

Ha!

I think I recall seeing on Cruzetalk that they used new mapping on the PCM for 2014. I believe these engines were designed in Germany, originally with 91 octane. I assume GM didn’t want to sell a small car in the US that required premium gas, so their fix was to modify the PCM software. Not the optimal solution. I can

I never saw a Malibu like that here in the US. Wonder how they are related.

Isn’t that the Leaf/Bolt?

PS - Fuck $27k to 28k for a new small car. That’s too much. Anyone who pays that much is a sucker/moron.

Yep, wife owns one of those Civics lol. She hates it.

Eh, last gen also got 42mpg highway in eco trim with a stick.

I bought a Cruze because it was the best price, best mpg, could be had with a manual, and I fit. Being 6'6" shopping in the small car segment limits your choices.

Buick Verano too. You can really see the Verano’s shape in this pic.

Have a 14 Eco and have had the opposite experience. Plenty of torque thanks to a properly sized turbo (I’m looking at you Dodge, with the gutless 1.4T). My average mpg is 43.8 with a mix of city and highway (pump calc).

This. Also have the Cruze Eco and average 43.8mpg with 60/40 highway-city mix. Driving style and type of weather, gas, commute play a huge part.

I see it often, but don’t get this sentiment. My 2014 Cruze is rated at 42 highway and I average 43.8 with city and highway mix (pump calc).

I have the current gen Cruze and average 43.8mpg (pump calc) with 60% highway 40% city driving. It’s rated at 30 city, 42 highway, 33 average. I expect 42 highway will be easily attainable by most owners.

I average 43.8mpg in the current Cruze. So yes, very possible.

This. I have one and average 43.8mpg (pump calc).

Same here. My 1.4T Cruze is averaging 43.8mpg (pump calc).

Most US states also have laws requiring insurance with penalties for not complying. Ohio, you can lose your license for up to 2 years and pay up to $650 in fines.

Sergio Marchionne would disagree.
