They just finished replacing pretty much every interstate sign in a 50 mile radius of me, they used this new font AND went from lit signs to unlit. So fucking hard to read now. I want to meet the ODOT jackass who thought making the signs that are 15-20ft in the air unlit was a good idea. Most cars have projector

My interest in the new Top Gear just went from don’t give a fuck, to still don’t give a fuck.

He got fired for this? Cheeky bastard should have been promoted! Or given a metal! That’s awesome!

Colbert mocked this split/merger frenzy some time ago in quite the hilarious video:

That would make for an interesting service order:

Don’t with the Onstar. I let it expire and they would interrupt my car radio to play an ad for it over the Onstar phone connection a couple times a year. Pissed me off royally. I would rip the Onstar box out of the car if it was still a separate module. They mailed ads to my house for over a year too, and I still get

Not always. Some dealers are allocated inventory that they have to take from the factory. You may have to take 5 Sonics, even though your dealer never moves Sonics, in order to get the 60 Equinoxs that you sell easily. Same with trim levels, you may get base models or loaded models in your allocation even though your

All of my GM cars have had similar stickers in the doorjam.

Yeah, they aren’t always stickers. The one on my most recent car purchase was small and relatively inconspicuous, so I left it on. It’s one of those heat-applied decal with the transfer paper that they apply, then peel off leaving the decal. Getting it off would be possible, but a complete bitch.

Not sure what you are saying was wrong. The ES hybrid comes with a CVT. Can’t speak to the ES personally, but other CVTs I’ve driven have had fake “select a gear” paddle shifters or the +/- gate in the shifter. In reality when you use that, the CVT just goes to a preset ratio for the “gear number” you selected.

I would think they are responsible for giving you correct documentation about the car, regardless of what badges are physically on the car.

LOL. Sadly this looks like something my uncle would drive. Whenever they go anywhere, the car looks like he took everything including the kitchen sink.

Things you can’t do with that car: See the road or drive.

Agreed. I have a 98 Cavalier as a winter beater. It’s a terrible car. Lovingly nicknamed The Turd. But despite its many, many flaws, the damn thing has been reliable. The closest to being stranded I’ve ever been was when the clutch died (past 200k miles), and when the ignition switch starter circuit died. Thankfully

Agreed. I would take the bus if I could. But in my city, it would increase my commute from 25 minutes to over 155, with 45 minutes (1.8mi) of walking (each way). I would arrive to work late and have to leave early. It would cost more per trip than I was paying when gas was $4.00 a gallon. This is within city limits of

This concern over perception is something I’ve been curious about. The average luxury car buyer isn’t a gearhead like us, so how much does the engine displacement, type, etc actually weigh in their decision-making process? Or do they care more about the “experience” and less about the numbers?

This. 100x this. I’ve seen so many “revisions” that never made it to the first couple years worth of cars. Like a seal around the rear strut towers of the Grand Prix that prevented moisture/rust... that was only installed on 01-03 but not 97-00. Which is why my strut towers are rusting. I only buy cars in the last

The 2.0t is no slouch, it’ll do fine as the base engine. I had a ATS loaner while my 1st gen CTS-V was getting a recall done. It was way more powerful and fast than I expected, especially going from 400hp/ft-lbs to 272hp/295ft-lb. I’m considering a used ATS 2.0t to replace the V in a few years.

The current Cadillac president was the guy who switched Infiniti to their bonkers numbering system. So that’s where it’s coming from at Cadillac.

I can’t said I expected much more than a warmed over Taurus though. At least not with everything else Ford has pooped out and called a Lincoln lately. I will admit with no other luxury brands as distractions, I expected they would do better with Lincoln overall.
