You’re paying for all kinds of things in that markup, including labor warranty. Sometimes the parts they buy are faulty out of the box, or fail shortly after installation. The shop does get the part replaced for free from their supplier, but they have to eat the labor cost of replacing the part a second time for free.

GM must suck at making these to handle enough current. My CTS-V was recalled to replace the fuel pump electrical connector for overheating/burning. My beater Cavalier had a melted rear-defroster connector from the prior owner. My 2000 Grand Prix had a lightly burned HVAC fan connector. That one did ok though, the fan

This was why they recalled the first gen CTS-Vs, this was happening in the fuel pump connector. That’s a bad place for overheating/burning electrical connectors.

I don’t think this is accurate. I have a car designed to be fuel efficient (mt cruze eco), aerodynamic, with taller gearing from the factory. It’ll get 50-55mpg at 60 mph but drops to 38-42 mpg at 70 mph. There is a big speed penalty, you can’t beat physics. Drag increases at double the rate of speed. So if you double

Same couple got 64.4 us mpg in a Chevy cruze eco (gas, not diesel) across all 48 states in the US four years ago

Honest question? Why wouldn’t it be legally binding? Sounds like an offer to me. UCC was pretty plain on offer and acceptance last time I read it (admittedly, a few years ago)/

Tesla should start a program that has current owners giving test drives to people who place an order. For compensation of course.

I for one am not interested in the price penalty of crossovers. You aren’t going to get a deal on one like you can on a new sedan.

GTFO of Crimea, I assume.

As long as the car was returned in the same condition, I wouldn’t care. I don’t see the big deal that they combined a test drive and picking up lunch. Maybe the dealer is crazy on their mechanics and they aren’t getting lunch breaks? Either way, doesn’t seem like a good reason to get mad or be fired. There’s always

The Silverado is not outselling the F150, but it’s not being “passed by”. My girlfriend works for a large midwest bank, their most financed vehicle in 2014 was the Chevy Silverado.

iPhone 5c’s are plastic.

I’m curious if it’s just a rebadged Traverse? Or at least same platform?

Ebay. There’s stickers of some sort to black it out. I see lots of current gen Cruze owners doing it.

Same here. Paid $16,150 (plus tax) for a brand new 2014 eco m6. Would have bought a diesel if there was a return, but it didn’t look like it when I did the calculations. The few diesels available were going for near sticker price of ~$25k.

The Fusion doesn’t look like a 200, it looks like a crappy Chinese knockoff of an Aston Martin.

We need to have Demuro write Tavarish’s headlines. Doug is the king of silly comparisons.

Luck has nothing to do with it. More like hard work, saving, living within your means, and delayed gratification. Sure, you can get a newer car with a bad loan from BHPH dealer, or you can buy a POS $500 car from Craiglist and drive it into the ground. Been there done that.

Ah, broken window economics. Sure, it would take away from those things, but that does not mean there would be less economic activity overall. That money would be used elsewhere.

I’ve lucked out as well, but the only person I know who doesn’t have a speeding ticket on their record currently is my 72 year old mother LOL.
