It may be worth shifting your thinking: there’s nothing to get. The lack of context, and the way it doesn’t teach you how to play by giving you some early wins is a design choice to encourage you to make the experience your own.

If you thought Quantumania looked like a CW show, you clearly don’t watch enough CW shows. I’ve spent hundreds of hours watching various Arrowverse shows and the effects on those is hysterically bad. Quantumania is extremely watchable by comparison

This. Speaking as, for better or worse, a lifetime fan of Doctor Who: if crap SFX were a barrier to telling a compelling story, it would be a smaller and sadder universe.  Worry less about pixel alignment and worry more about characters, motivations and dialogue.

The movie looked fine. Even the screen grab above that’s constantly been shit on since the trailer came out didn’t look near as bad in the theaters for all the shit it got on the internet the last couple of months. People just need to stop being jaded assholes all the time and enjoy things

I had a friend who didn’t want to see Dune because Star Wars already did the whole desert planet years ago and it was just a rip off.
