Sorta related question, but why are all the Yankee broadcasters certifiably awful? Michael Kay, Suzyn Waldman, John Sterling, they all shouldn’t be in front of any microphone.

This is why I love Deadspin, FWIW. Nobody "sticks to sports," because ultimately sports are pretty fucking petty when not considered in a broader sociocultural context.
The degree to which sportswriters think that petty bullshit like this matters is just staggering.
well, if i knew my kid would be a cop, i’d probably name him ‘fuck’ also
The Jesuit priest makes a very good observation. But it’s also worth pointing out that all the characters in Fleabag are really self-involved, so it makes sense that the priest would be as well.
As an ally (I think, at least in this case) I don’t know what it took to reach me. Maybe just me stop being an asshole and learning to respect women as people?
Honestly, how do people read this totally light-hearted and fun article and then take away that she is shitting on the movie and/or is ever even remotely serious about this movie at all? I mean, look at the title of the article!!!!! I enjoy Marvel movies and enjoyed this one, but for criminy’s sake, get a sense of…
The team clarified that next to Theismann’s name is not actually the retired number 7, just a picture of his tibia.
Exactly. I PVR most of the sports I watch, and it’s up to me to not go anywhere on the internet that might spoil a game or race for me. It’s an astonishing level of entitlement some people have, thinking 8 billion people should cater to their desires.
At the end of the day, most people who complain about spoilers aren’t willing to make the necessary changes/sacrifices to their lifestyle to avoid them. They expect everyone else to accommodate them. If you truly, truly do not want to be spoiled, you have to be willing to avoid the internet, avoid talking to people…
I generally don’t care about spoilers because my experience is MY experience. How one person views a scene/story is usually a little different from someone else’s. Now, I kinda don’t like it when the big twist/plot turn is revealed (which, I know, is the basis of a spoiler), but I can handle it because I fancy myself…
Guys, here me out. What if we made domestic violence illegal?
The NFL should just employ some Precogs to see when these players will commit crimes, then just sign those players to shorter contracts.
Yeah shut ‘em down, but, without having any knowledge of Swarthmore’s student body and current housing needs - is the type of housing they’re requesting in demand or is this just a symbolic gesture?
Wildly varying/inconsistent power levels and poorly defined power scopes are the most authentically comic book thing imaginable.
Senior Bowl MVP 2017: Davis Webb
Honestly they were original not going to serve you at all because your dog was with you, then they realized that was your mother so they just stuck you in the corner farthest from the door so you didn’t scare any of the other patrons.
The good table was reserved for your brothers.
You can't have it because nobody fucking likes you.
I know there are rules, but, I mean, I’m an exception to all rules right?
