Sorry bro but FFX, as much as I love it, is a game on rails. You walk forward, you collect shit, level up, dialog, boss, next area, walk forward, collect shit proceed. The presentation in the least, is as linear as it can get. It`s hardly differently than FF13, and I enjoyed that one too.

They take two of the other runners and fucking kill them. Then leave the bodies at the start line as a warning.
