Now this is what I'm talking about. Can we have more cool articles like this in exchange for fewer rants? Make it a series and call it Gizbusters or something.

Well, I posted this on the Kickstarter rant, and hell, it seems like it fits for all your rants so I'll add it here too.

Kickstarter is OVER!

Instead of a microphone, there is some sort of magnetic field sensor that's directly reading the voice coil of the phone's speaker. I have a feeling that it would pick up tons of stray interference from any other moving magnetic fields in the area, especially stuff like fluorescent lights. Interesting idea though.

DRAW A BEETLE WITH TWO OVALS*

Let's be real here. IT professionals make decent money, but more often than not they're absolutely horrible at managing it. Car payments? Screw that! My vote is for the saturn SC2. Yeah, it kind of looks like some sort of sporty coupe but it's really just a total piece of shit. But hey, at least it has a name

Yeah, I mean this was giving me some serious gawker redesign deja vu: "One thing that'll surely rankle a lot of feathers: your timeline is on the right side!"

That tequila is Asombroso Anejo. I'd notice its donginess anywhere, because they had an immense and dongy billboard on the 405 freeway just north of Long Beach, CA. The paint faded and flaked away, so it looked like an advertisement for STD's.

I think other parts of the driveline might start to have issues at that point- halfshafts maybe. He didn't even launch it hard, so I'm guessing that he doesn't want to grenade anything. 1.85 60 ft is good but not great. If he got it down into the 1.6's the car would be mid to low 10's, easy. General rule of thumb

I'd say it's a stupid deal alright- it's already sold out.

Considering that there are phones that come with and without a hardware keyboard now and android handles it just fine... I don't see how the hardware buttons are any different. Consider it a very small hardware keyboard with only four buttons!

I don't know how everybody started thinking it was owned by Cargill- it's been Morton salt for as long as I can remember. I grew up just on the other side of the bridge in Menlo Park and lived there for 25 years.

Did you watch the video? There are a ton of bikes, and between 1:00 and 1:30 one does exactly what you're talking about...

"So when did I complain about the gorilla glass?"

So much bad information in your "engineering" rant...

Meh... He pointed him by, and probably lifted at the same time to let him by. Not only that, he was being held up by the car in front of him. Hardly "proof".

fitbits also run out of batteries and take a laptop to use properly. If you're out hiking far away from a power outlet, simple solutions are often the best.

Ok, first off- I have to address these statements:

With larger-screened devices, it helps a little with being able to navigate the thing one handed. It subtly moves the top and bottom edges of the screen closer to your thumb. Plus, it sort of looks cool.

Farmers markets. If you're in LA proper, you will definitely be able to find it at the Santa Monica farmer's market. What city are you actually in?
