A climactic encounter with another prominent Republican pushes further while still going more or less where the audience might expect, toward an incident that would constitute a front-page embarrassment five or 10 years ago.

So take . . . . . . take my hooommme . . .
Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today,Rush!
So, what did you have for dinner? I fried fish, and I don’t fry stuff often.
I think most people who’ve seen it would rate it somewhere in the 4-to-7-out-of-10 range. But cracks about it’s ballooning expense and “poor” (actually moderate) Box Office were heard by more people than actually saw it in 95 and that has remained it's most prominent legacy.
“Look at ME, you filth” is my personal fav
Wouldnt surprise me if its actually just a new round altogether instead of a replacement, kinda like theyve done with a few others. Theyve added in harder versions of existing rounds and they dont replace the old ones
Titanic also premièred in December of ‘97. By calendar gross, it was only 7th of the year (after Men in Black, The Lost World, Liar Liar, Air Force One, Star Wars (Special Edition), and My Best Friend’s Wedding).
Not bad for less than two weeks of showings, but still less than half of the top two spots.
I thought it was pretty good other than the tone shifting a little too far to goofy when Dennis Hopper shows up. The only thing it’s really guilty of is not imagining the possibility of a hurricane occurring.
Weird is right - people for some reason love to latch onto these big expensive productions hoping for failure so they can laugh at the hubris. I mean who really cares if Universal lost money (which they didn’t)?
It’s been a while since I read the LA Quartet, but IIRC the movie draws from three of the books (and of course in the book Dudley doesn’t die). The screenwriting is part of the perfection I mentioned.
Of all the Titanic trivia to be had, the one that perversely sticks with me is how Gloria Stuart was a victim of GOP cancel culture immediately after the film, because at 87 years old she had absolutely no reservations about mentioning in an interview that she preferred masturbating to men.
Like many other men I only watched this movie because it was a huge cinematic event and I love movies.
How about someone feed you a curb so you’d stop policing how women should look?
Go back on your meds, kid.
I was watching a tracker that counted (among other things) number of interruptions. Pence 16, Harris 11. Except 9 of Harris’s 11 interruptions were her saying "I'm speaking" when Pence tried to talk over her, and I really don't think those should count as interruptions.
My aunt made some comment about disliking how smug Kamala Harris looks while talking.
Does anyone think Pence is sick?
Considering the book version of events is a 13 girl who has just been sold into a marriage “consenting” to have sex with a 30 year old man who doesn’t speak her language, not sure if I trust Martin’s call on this one.
I played for about 5 hours last night in VR on PC, it is probably tied with Half-Life: Alyx for graphics. It was like experiencing what my child-mind THOUGHT Tie Fighter looked like back in ‘95. It definitely feels more “real” than Elite Dangerous or No Mans Sky in VR (lighting, animation, effects).
