HAWKEYE’S GODDAMN USB ARROW

Which would have been perfectly decent if it hadn’t (for some reason) shoehorned in a bunch of unnecessary foreshadowing for later movies that interrupted its flow and added at least 20 minutes of runtime. It wouldn’t have been as great as Avengers or Infinity War, but it would have been better-regarded.

Also, say what you will about the voice (which I don’t find hard to understand at all) - Bane had some great lines in that movie.

I felt like Hawkeye’s great line in Age of Ultron was a nod to the Fraction Hawkeye - openly stating “what the hell am I doing here?”

You just wait 20 years to make a sequel and then ignore that line entirely.

Yeah, I’m not sure how a person would have viewed Cap as being serious right then.

Exactly why we need the Doop movie.

Although MBJ’s death in Chronicle was made much more poignant by the fact that he was already so good - you were genuinely sad he’d died because you wanted more of him.  I like a movie that inspires that kind of pseudo-grief.

the year’s other Joss Whedon/Chris Hemsworth jam, and it’s amazing.

BTW, thanks for your service and courage under fire at Nakatomi Plaza.

If your son is “starting to get old enough” he’s either still young enough to not totally get it anyway and just enjoy the movie, or he’s old enough to want to see more movies with these superheroes.  Either way, you’re overthinking it. (I say this as someone who is also overthinking this exact thing with my own kid

See, e.g., Batman v. Superman; Justice League; Suicide Squad

“Basically the movie assumes that you’ve seen its prequels (Iron Man 1, Thor’s intro, and Captain America: The First Avenger at the very least), and this can be a real problem.”

Possibly, but only in the way that chapter five of a book assumes you’ve read the first four, and the fifth episode of a TV show (in the

From what I’ve heard, in the mouth works better.

How interesting that you’d say something like that in the context of a discussion on how often illegal immigrants kill people.

I don’t view that as a problem!

“They actually seemed to have learned a lesson from last year and are making Trump own the negative consequences of this shutdown.”

I mean, something pretty significant changed between then and now.

RIP.  He was too young to go like this.
