That’s fair. Yeah, for a lot of folks, “looks okay and plays fine” is all they’re looking for, which I think is why so many folks have flocked to the Switch.

I think that might just be a bias error from there being so many star wars fans in general. Of course one of the largest fandoms in history also has one of the largest toxic groups.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan and have been shocked in recent years at how terrible the fandom there is. So I would probably agree with you. 

No, I think “gamers” have a higher percentage of toxic fans than other hobbies. The book/movie “Misery” was about a very toxic book fan, but I think there are a lot fewer of those in retrospect.

I mean Star Trek has been breaking established canon for like 40 years. At a certain point you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride. Head canon your fixes if you must but just sit back and go with the flow. 

So it's not just me then. Most unnecessary and unwarranted remake ever. It'll probably fail to meet expectations if not for the fact that we now now it's  a September release and there are a dearth of new ps5 exclusives.

We do for the vanishing few PS3 titles that never got a PS4 remake.
