I always laugh at “forced homosexuality” comments because you literally never heard about “forced heterosexuality” in any romantic moment in any other form of entertainment. Folks new to the AV Club might not be aware of how rare a Dowd review over a B is. Basically a Dowd B+ means it’s near or in the all time cannon, a masterwork. Maybe 5% of his reviews are an A or A-, and that’s probably rounding up.
