I was mostly amazed that the special effects in that trailer somehow managed to look worse than a movie that’s almost 30 years old at this point.

In defense of Forbidden West, they made it so a quick pulse from Aloy’s focus temporarily highlights climbable holds.
While legitimately angry reactions to yellow paint done in anything other than fully ironic fashion are wholly dumb, I like how Horizon Forbidden West handled it, where a quick button press temporarily highlighted available holds which would fade within a few seconds.
Would definitely love to see Hellblade II be ported. The first game had absolutely stunning sound design, and while I’m not convinced it was really crying out for a sequel, I’m willing to see where they’re going.
I’m not really opposed to the end(?) of exclusivity itself necessarily; with the exception of one generation, my consoles of choice have been whatever Nintendo and Sony have put out if for no other reason than the stuff exclusive to Sony’s console appeals to me more than the stuff exclusive to Microsoft’s, but there…
Most of his coworkers, apparently
Funny, I thought part of Maher’s whole new schtick was “free speech, damn the consequences / woooooke cancel culture suuuuuucks". I mean, he certainly didn't have the same qualms about interviewing a certain billionaire who has gone out of his way to re-platform Nazis and other bigots on twitter...
Yes, I know the internet already existed then. Social media as we understand it now did not, though, and there is a vast, vast difference between isolated forums largely populated by hardcore fandoms on dial-up, and the obviously far more widespread nature of social media today.
Depends on how ‘back in the day’ we’re talking about. It seems to have fallen down the memory hole to some extent, but the reaction to the Star Wars prequels was absolutely poisonous from some people, and I fully believe that if social media (and in particular, certain sites) had been as ubiquitous then as they are…
Thank you for reminding me that "my console is better than your console" bullshit is just as tiresome now as it was over 30 years ago in elementary school.
Yeah, that’s... fair. Not sure why that didn’t immediately occur to me, lol.
Going to go in the opposite direction on the HIMYM finale, a show that was neither as great as everyone made out nor was the finale as bad. Part of the whole point of 9 straight seasons of Ted being a romantic fuck-up was that he was continually shooting himself in the foot by waiting around for ‘destined happiness’,…
There’s a few of them that didn’t mind Joel dying per se, they just wanted him to have some big ridiculous action star hero death.
Ehhh, maybe? I think there’s too much of an assumption that famous automatically equals wealthy. She was one of an ensemble cast on one very popular show about 30 years ago, fired from another after three seasons, and has mostly had a random assortment of jobs in the interim. Celebrity net worth, for whatever they’re…
She could be playing Lev and Yara’s mother.
Basically. I’ve generally been down for his storytelling, even if I’ve often thought he’s been in desperate need of someone to reign in some of his more out-there impulses for a while; but good lord the gameplay loop of DS was just pure aggravation. I think the part that kind of pushed me over into just outright…
Why the hell do I want to play this at all? The first game was so frustrating by the halfway point that I was finishing it more out of spite than anything else.
I mean, thank the gods it at least doesn’t control like the N64. It has not aged well in a lot of respects.
What a completely overblown and ridiculous response. Maybe don't behave like an asshole if you don't want to be called an asshole?
Except they aren’t “jokes”. Like seriously, feel free to quote for me anything about trans people from any of his recent specials that wasn’t either out and out punchline-free commentary or mean-spirited horseshit. He literally said we are "holding LGB people back". That's not even kind of a joke.
