“I didn’t have much experience of how to organize domesticity.”

You can protect freedom of religion and the separation of church and state without bans on personal religious adornments. And anyway, there’s no telling how such a ban would have any material effect in the first place. Evangelical fundamentalists use their faith as a reason to restrict women’s rights. But so do

Came here to write this.  Now, I don’t have to.

You can bet that if she were white no charges would have been filed, or even considered, for that matter.

Look, if I sound defensive, it’s because I am. And I’m not writing just to you, but everyone throwing shade. I’m not claiming my kid has any health or mental issues, but I live in NYC and we commute from one borough to another with our 3 year old. If we didn’t have a stroller, getting to daycare would take 2 hours in

Yeah, all the entitled four year olds these days really don’t think about the long term enough.

I have not met a liberal person of color that is not offended by her actions and don’t consider this a quintessential example of appropriation. The outrage is strong because many people in communities of color considered her a viable presidential candidate at one point. Now she just comes off as a more polite racist

Being 1/64 to 1/1024 Native confirms her claims? Almost every American has that much racial admixture that is not aligned with their racial phenotype. Can we all claim to be every race then that constitutes our racial genotype and expect to be taken seriously?

Elizabeth Warren is a grown ass woman who could have ignored the ridiculous racist claims made by the ridiculous racist president but she didn’t. She chose to engage in order to prove....? Nothing. She is an asshole because she is claiming affiliation with a group of people who are literally yelling HEY THAT ISN’T HOW

I want to know where people think all this overflowing money is for black and brown kids for college. I mean, sure, there are some scholarships for students from underrepresented backgrounds (that also tend to be very competitive), but the way people talk about it you’d think there was a Fort Knox’s worth of money for

Yeah once again there’s an entire article right above the very comments you typed that would explain to you very clearly why nothing you said makes what she’s doing any less fucked up but it is clear that you didn’t read it so that is a null point.

These comments are under a whole article explaining why DNA testing means jack shit and why her claiming that is harmful, colonial garbage and I am the one missing the point....... mkay.

I breastfed my child until 4 years. I did not intent to when I was pregnant, but for many many reasons I’m not going to go into, that’s just what worked for us. And in fact that was what was good for us. When we were both ready my child was weaned. We’re both fine and I don’t give a fuck. Come at me. I’m right too.

Yeah.... see how in your example you have 2 fully Puerto Rican parents who have both lived in Puerto Rico? Elizabeth Warren has 0 Native American parents and has spent 0 time living within a Native community and has 0 connections to any Native tribe and see how these two situations are not the same thing?

I think it’s totally reasonable, depending on the family/neighborhood/activity. A stroller doesn’t mean that a child doesn’t walk or run— it just gives the parent/caretaker a way to transport kids when running around isn’t a good option.

Heart kids like mine should still get to enjoy the playground even though they might need a little help with the walk home later. They aren’t completely unable to move. They just tap out a little sooner.

I was also with you up until leashes. I’ve never felt any need for one with my 2 year old. But I’m pregnant with twins and will have 3 under 3. The lady from my twin class says, for many twin parents, you adjust really quickly to the need for them.

We do talk about about it. She understands that it’s not a forever thing but she likes it and it’s comforting for her for now.
That said, you should keep your nose out of your sister’s business. It may seem like harmless, silly banter to you but the decision to nurse or not is between the mother and child and with all

They like to counter that argument by saying “well yoooooou made the choice to have sex!”

This idea that women shouldn’t have sex if they don’t want to get pregnant, and that we have an obligation to carry a pregnancy to term, is so ridiculous and morally repugnant in a free society.

Let’s say his argument is true, and that a fetus has human rights. Let’s go with that for a second.
